Eva Longoria has made it official: Ernesto Arguello is one seriously lucky guy.
The actress tells People that she’s dating this Miami-based entrepreneur and philanthropist – and there’s a reason why the relationship is going so well.
“We truly started as friends,” Longoria says, referring to their connection as “special.”
Arguello met Longoria as a cast member on her reality show Ready for Love (he dated Miss USA Shandi Finnessey for a time as a result of it).
Rumors swirled this spring that the two had gotten together, but Longoria says romance only hit recently.
“Eva and Ernesto are a perfect match,” an insider close to the couple tells the magazine. “They both speak Spanish, have the same religion and the same cultural background.”
The couple just got back from a trip to Arguello’s native Honduras, where the well-meaning ex-reality star has built a school and multiple homes impoverished families.
“Their friendship and their similar philanthropic interests laid the foundation for their new romance,” concludes this friend. “They’re very much in love.”
