Dear MySpace: Facebook will see your $20 million relaunch and raise you… hastags!

Yes, the social network has finally joined Twitter in making it easy for users to take part in a public discussion of television shows, politics and everything related to Kim Kardashian.

“To date, there has not been a simple way to see the larger view of what’s happening or what people are talking about,” wrote Facebook product manager Greg Lindley in a company blog post yesterday.

But that has now changed, with the website using the same “#” to denote hashtags as every other social site.

They will be utilized on Facebook in the same way as they are on Twitter.

See the sign in a post… click on it… and view a series of other feeds from those who are focused on the same subject as the hashtag indicates.
