Crime Scene Tape

The unnamed 23-year North Carolina resident was tracked by nine state and local agencies across two counties for nearly two hours, opening fire from his pickup truck and hitting random cars along the way.

He was eventually killed along a highway north of Eden by a state trooper and a game warden.

Upon approaching his corpse, law enforcement officials noted that he was armed an assault-style rifle, a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

No other details were released, but investigators say only they are reviewing "multiple crime scenes."
