Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford's custody battle with ex Daniel Giersch has taken another bizarre turn after she arrived at a French airport to visit her kids Sunday, only to find celebrity gossip photographers waiting for her.
Rutherford has an idea who tipped photogs off about her whereabouts.
The star believes Giersch set up the photo op of Hermes, 5, and Helena, 3, against court orders. The two kids live with him in France as he has primary custody ... but he's also banned from the U.S., meaning Kelly has to go to France to visit.
Her spokesperson David Goldin tells E! News:
"If indeed it is true that the father staged hit photo op in violation of the court order after being banned by the government from entering the United States, the facts continue to make this situation more bizarre than Gossip Girl episodes could ever be."Giersch's attorney Fahi Hallin responds:
"Mr. Giersch absolutely did not do any such set up. As to the circumstances regarding my client's Visa, he does not wish to comment ... because he wants and has always wanted to keep maximum privacy for the sake of the children."
Days after a judge ruled that her children would relocate to Europe, Kelly told GMA she would appeal, and that "I will never stop fighting for my children."
"They're my babies, they're very young, and this is going to affect them profoundly, and I want to be there as much as I can to show them that this isn't my fault."
This concludes the latest chapter in one of the ugliest celebrity breakups yet.
