American Idol took a trip to the 1980s last night, as the remaining finalists might as well have broken out their neon tube socks and stonewashed jeans.
Phillip Phillips did neither, of course. He simply unleashed another strong performance on viewers with his take on “That’s All” by Genesis.
Likely the most consistent performance this season, Phillips had guest mentors Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal worried in practice, but with his brother-in-law actually backing him up on stage, Phillip shined once again. J. Lo said it came together at the end and Randy simply said it was another great performance.
Nothing especially noteworthy, but Phillip Phillips being Phillip Phillips is never a bad thing, right? Watch now:
