It’s not easy to bring a global best-seller to the big screen, especially when it deals with the sensitive topic of race.

But, as socialite Hilly Holbrook in the The Help, that’s the mission in front of Bryce Dallas Howard. It’s not one she expected to undertake, considering how different Hilly is from the actress’ past parts in The Twilight Saga and The Village.

“I don’t think I would have cast myself,” Howard laughed in an interview with Movie Fanatic. “So, once I was cast, I had to have a certain amount of faith in the producers and director for making the right decision or I would have been a little fearful that I couldn’t do it.”
