Following performances by Adam Lambert and Diddy Dirty Money, the first American Idol finalist received the news he/she was fearful to hear tonight: it was time to go home.
Who would the unlucky contestant be? Ashthon Jones, who sang Diana Ross one more time for the judges in an attempt to stave off elimination. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, as Jennifer Lopez broke the news to the hopeful: “Not this time, baby, I’m sorry. And it was unanimous.”
Jones proceeded to break down in tears and was comforted by her fellow finalists as the credits rolled.
