Bristol Palin was good at moving her hips when Levi Johnston was around – if you know what we’re talkin’ about! – but how will she fare on Dancing With the Stars?

The 19-year-old, a member of the new Dancing With the Stars cast unveiled last night, says her challenge will be “showing my personality and moving my hips!”

THG NOTE: We were talkin’ about those hips clamped down on Levi’s Johnston! Then, nine months later, helping to bear his offspring! Okay, moving on now.

“I just wanted to do it because it’s so fun,” Bristol said. “It’s so positive and it’s a good competition. I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and have a good time.”

Her mom, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, was supportive as well: “She’s always been my No. 1 fan. Of course, she’ll be here [cheering me on].”

But Sarah won’t baby-sit her grandson Tripp, 19 months, while Bristol Palin is rehearsing. Said Bristol, “She’ll be traveling the world doing speeches and stuff.”

Maybe Levi Johnston is available every Monday night from 8-10?

As for Bristol’s top competition on the program, she views Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey and singer Brandy as two of the favorites, for obvious reasons.

“They both have some dance experience,” she said. “But everyone’s so good and I’m so happy to be a part of it … The pro athletes are pretty cool too.”

As for those Dancing With the Stars costumes, Bristol says: “We did our title shoot today, so I got all glammed up, but I’m definitely excited to wear all those. I know that mine will be the most conservative. I will be the most dressed.”

“That’s how I am and that’s how I want to dress,” the youngster adds. “But it’ll be good, all the rhinestones and spray tans, that will be fun.”

What do you think? Does Bristol’s appearance offer a good example of a single mom doing whatever it takes to provide for her child, or a negative example of a person rewarded with fame and fortune for having a child out of wedlock?
