The Tony Awards celebrate the best on Broadway, but they were hijacked by Hollywood heavyweights last night.

Among the night’s biggest winners were Scarlett Johansson, Denzel Washington and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Said the former, who was honored for her role in the revival of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge:

“Being welcomed into this community has been a dream come true for me. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be on Broadway, and here I am.”

Denzel, already an Academy Award winner, referred to himself as “amazed, surprised and blessed” for winning Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play.

Sean Hayes, who was the subject of a controversial Newsweek article last month, hosted the ceremony. He joked that it was “the World Cup of show tunes.”
