Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour sure is getting a lot of attention as she barnstorms Eastern Europe. But perhaps not the kind she anticipated.
First, she was booed mercilessly in Bucharest, Romania, for comments she made mid-song about Gypsies, gays, and other “people who are different.”
The crowd apparently did not care for such individuals.
Now, the Material Mom is making more headlines for a near-collapse on stage in Sofia, Bulgaria, calling into question whether her incredibly grueling tour and exercise schedule may be too much for a person her age – or any age.
Footage of Madonna in Bulgaria shows her almost faint, collapse or lose consciousness while singing “Holiday.” She had to be supported by a dancer.
A backup dancer had to shake Madonna and wake her up.
The Sun (UK) claims she passed out leaving the stage, and while we can’t corroborate or necessarily believe that, the footage does show her looking faint.
“She refused to end the show or take a break after the ‘Holiday’ dizzy spell,” says a source. “It turns out she’s suffering from exhaustion. She is anemic.”
“She was advised to postpone the last two shows in Israel for a few days, but logistics and stubborness stopped her. She’ll do them then take some rest.”
Hopefully Jesus Luz steps in and nurses his mom girlfriend back to health.
