Well that’s one way to put divorce rumors to rest.
Instead of going their separate ways, as has been whispered for weeks, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are pooling their DNA yet again.
The couple is expecting twin daughters! Via a surrogate mother!
“The entire family is overjoyed. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate,” the actors’ publicists said in a statement.
Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, and Matthew Broderick, 47, who also have a son, 6-year-old James Wilkie, had been trying unsuccessfully to expand their brood.
“At a certain point, they were presented with an alternative,” an E! source says.
“They could have kept trying on their own, but they have always wanted to have more children and ultimately felt this was the best way to go.”
Parker plans to take some time off after the twins’ arrival – but not much. She intends to start shooting the Sex and the City sequel sometime this summer.
Broderick was rumored to have cheated on Parker last summer, sparking a long string of rumors that the long-married couple was on the verge of a split.
Guess not. Congrats to the happy, expectant parents!
