In what has to be the biggest piece of stunt casting since How I Met Your Mother snagged Britney Spears, Entertainment Weekly reports that Katie Holmes will be returning to the small screen this fall on ABC’s Eli Stone.
The guest starring role, which should give a nice boost to the critically adored but marginally-rated series, marks a reunion between Holmes and her former Dawson’s Creek boss, Eli Stone executive producer Greg Berlanti.

A spokesperson for the show declined to comment, but Michael Ausiello reports that the proud mother of Suri Cruise will be in one episode.
