Friday, Private Practice was officially picked up. But Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh now has even an even bigger reason to celebrate.
In addition to getting her own prime-time series, she’s also getting married!
The 39-year-old actress confirmed Tuesday that she’s engaged to boyfriend, Alex Young, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox.
Kate Walsh flashed her Neil Lane Jubilee-cut diamond to People magazine and said that Young proposed last week in San Francisco.
So what makes her fiancé so special? He doesn’t make gay slurs about T.R. Knight. Just kidding. Well, he doesn’t. But that’s not why he’s special.
“Oh, everything,” she gushed at the Entertainment Weekly upfront party at The Box in NYC.
“He’s the most amazing man I ever met.”
Clearly, Walsh never dated Criss Angel: Mind Freak.
Kate Walsh recently was seen in public with Alex Young at an April 28 fund-raiser for Barack Obama in Los Angeles.
Prior to that, Walsh had been relatively secretive about her love life. Not Jayden James Federline-style secretive, but certainly very private.
Late least week, ABC this week formally announced that Walsh will star in her own Greys Anatomy spinoff, as Dr. Addison Montgomery in Private Practice.
The show will air Wednesdays this fall and co-star Taye Diggs, Tim Daly, Amy Brennemann and others. Congrats to Kate on a job well done.
