Stefano Langone is the latest American Idol contestant to sign a record deal.

As of this week, the smooth singer is officially part of 19 Management, the same company that represents Pia Toscano, Haley Reinhart and James Durbin. Sources confirm that Langone is currently in the studio, working on his debut album.

We're very happy for Stefano, but we can't help but wonder: where is the record deal for friend of the site Casey Abrams? His run on season 10 was as original as any in Idol history.

Stefano Langone was voted off American Idol this week, but he says he's proud of how far he got and looking forward to what's next in his career.

In fact, he says he purposely held back on Idol because he wanted to save some of his patented special "swag" for fans to hear on his debut album.

"It's hard to really show your chops on the show," he said. "One thing I wanted to keep to myself was my original music and my piano playing. It's something I want to bring out and really show the world, and I think it will be very, very special."

Saying that he purposely chose to not showcase his full range of talent on the show, Langone said he has big plans to carve a unique niche in music.

In the vein of Justin Timberlake and John Legend, he says he wants to focus on his piano playing, writing his own material and collaborating with rappers.

"Right now, there is a market for what I do and what I can do," Stefano Langone said. "The producers know it, my management knows it, I know it."

"I'm ready to pounce on it. I'm ready to attack."

Did Ne-Yo's "Closer" help Stefano Langone get closer to the American Idol title?

Eh. Maybe it's just us, but we weren't feeling the sexy vibe he was trying to send out, and his vocals felt noticeably off-key at least a couple of times.

Will tonight be Stefano Langone's time to get the boot from American Idol? Or did he turn his hopes around? Watch him sing and see what you think:

Last week, we predicted that Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald would go home on American Idol, only to be stunned when Pia Toscano was eliminated.

This shows what we know, but we doubt we were the only ones surprised. Nor do we expect we're alone saying Stefano and Paul may be in danger again.

Haley Reinhart also looked shaky, so it's anyone's guess. But neither Stefano or Paul took that step last night that would put them in the "safe" category.

Right? Wrong? Watch their performances here and comment below:

Irate American Idol fans are bombarding the show and Fox after the elimination of Pia Toscano, demanding that the singer be allowed back on this week.

To make room for her, they also demand Stefano Langone remove himself from Idol, since, not to put too fine a point on it, he sucks and has no shot.

They've reached out to him in an effort to plead this case.

Their VOTES, which actually determine the results of this reality TV competition show, could have ensured this last week, of course. Details.

American Idol insiders say that hundred of fans have been begging Fox to halt the grave injustice of kicking their girl off the show, and to bend the rules.

The fans' message is simple. Stefano has no chance and should be removed now as a sacrificial lamb so that the more talented Pia Toscano can return.

Nothing like this has happened before on Idol, and no way it's going to in this case, you have to admire their dedication to Pia (albeit a week too late).

Idol already instituted the judges' save last season, too, for just such an occasion. Too bad J. Lo, RJ and Steve blew it on Casey Abrams weeks earlier.

It's not that Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald are bad singers, but their efforts have lagged behind the rest of the field at times on American Idol.

Did the twosome do enough to turn things around last night? Or are both in big trouble when the votes are tallied on tonight's elimination episode?

Stefano elected to sing "When a Man Loves a Woman," Percy Sledge-style, while Paul went on with Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." Thoughts?

Watch their performances from Wednesday night below and tell us if you think either - or neither - should be receiving a ticket home this evening ...

One of three wild card entries, as chosen by the judges last week, Stefano Langone made a strong statement on American Idol last night: I belong!

The singer challenged himself by taking on Stevie Wonder's "Lately," mixing it into a ballad and a jazz-based arrangement. The performance left Jennifer Lopez laughing and referring to the version as a "dance remix."

Steven Tyler compared Stefano to a "soaring volcano," while Randy Jackson likely paid him the biggest compliment of all: "It's so hard to sign Stevie Wonder. He'd be proud of this, because you slayed it."

They look very different and they hail from opposite ends of the country.

But Washington native Stefano Langone has something important in common with Florida resident Brett Loewenstern: they are two of the top 24 contestants on this season of American Idol.
