Fresh off her X Factor elimination, Jennel Garcia faced the press last night and looked forward to what she hopes will be a very bright future.

"It's time for me to show the world who I am," Garcia told reporters backstage. "Coming into this competition I lost myself. But I was looking for a place to grow and someone to guide me. And I feel like [Demi Lovato] guided me."

Garcia, of course, was stuck in the bottom two last night along with Paige Thomas. She fought back tears after the bad news was announced.

The Top 13 - yes, 13! - took to the stage on The X Factor last night, with four Teens battling it out for very young supremacy.

In the next age group up, meanwhile, viewers were treated to the vocal stylings of three beautiful, hopeful women: Jennel Garcia, Paige Thomas and CeCe Frey.

One went rock. One went Top Gun. One went Rocky III.

Only 18 years old, Jennel Garcia flew to Hollywood without her parents for The X Factor Boot Camp.

The Massachusetts native was noticeably nervous before her second audition in front of the judges, but her worries ended up going for naught.

With a strong take on Gavin Degraw's "Sweeter," Garcia easily moved on to the round of 24. In our humble opinion, that is...

The X Factor kicked off its wildly anticipated second season last night with new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato providing ample entertainment and critiques. Were you impressed by their debut?

In the end, of course, any singing competition comes down to its actual contestants, which also made the second season opener especially promising. Did you stick around for all two hours? Did you watch Jennel Garcia close the show?
