Pop star Britney Spears will be a late summer bride, apparently.

Fiance Jason Trawick popped the question to Spears just after the end of her world tour and 30th birthday - and just before his 40th birthday - in December.

Now the pair is in wedding planning mode, but thinking small.

"It's going to be a small event, a very intimate wedding with only immediate family and very, very close friends,” a source close to the situation says.

“It will probably be a destination wedding in a very warm, tropical location. There is absolutely no drama with the planning of the wedding," says the source.

"Britney will probably wear a casual, off-white dress and her sons are absolutely going to be a part of the ceremony as ring bearers ... Jason has something very special planned for the boys that will take place during the wedding.”

Aww. What could that be, do you think?

This will be the singer’s third marriage, although her first, to old friend Jason Alexander, was annulled after just 55 hours. She and K-Fed lasted about two years.

Federline, her sons' dad, has nothing but good things to say about Trawick.

Third time's the charm?

Britney Spears only just announced her engagement to Jason Trawick, but she's already making plans for the big day, according to close family sources.

The singer is adamant that it be a much more low-key, traditional affair than her two previous weddings ... both of which obviously did not turn out well.

Hey, you live and learn right?

An insider explains: "She wants a traditional Southern-style wedding with comfort food, surrounded by her family, her two sons and all of her childhood friends."

With the exception of Jason Alexander, we're guessing.

Insisting that she not have a "Hollywood wedding," Britney "is taking this marriage really seriously." Given everything she's gone through, that's good to hear.

Hopefully this is a relationship that really will be forever. After all the celebrity breakups we've chronicled in the past year, that would be a refreshing change.

That didn't take long.

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick got engaged this month, for real, after over a year of rumors that they would do so. Everybody is really happy for them (maybe not Jason Alexander, but everyone else it feels like).

That said, some celebrity gossip publications have already moved onto the next round of rumors: When will they have a baby together!?

The two have not set a date yet that we know of, and don't appear to be in a rush with things, which is probably smart. The same likely applies to having children.

Britney already has two sons, Sean Preston (6) and Jayden James (5), with her former spouse K-Fed. That may be enough to handle for herself and Jason Trawick.

One thing we hope is that with her tour finally over with, she takes the time to relax and enjoy her engagement. Family first - whether it's a growing one or not.

Kevin Federline is nothing short of stoked for Britney Spears.

The pop star just got engaged to Jason Trawick last week, and her ex-husband, with whom she has two adorable young sons, says he could not be happier.

"I'm really happy for her - I think he's a great guy," the Fed-Ex man tells Australia's TV Week. "She's happy; she's doing really well. She's in a good place."

"I haven't spoken to her too much since I've been here, but I know from talking to the kids and talking to the kids' teachers that they're doing really good."

"It's a good step in the right direction. I'm totally happy for her," he says.

As for Jason Trawick, Britney's husband-to-be? "I've spoke to him quite a few times as of now, and he seems like a really good guy," said Kevin Federline.

"The kids speak highly of him [and] her family loves him."

Federline is currently in Australia, filming the reality show Excess Baggage (a version of Celebrity Fit Club). The other day, he collapsed due to exhaustion.

Kev just celebrated a milestone of his own. He and Victoria Prince, his current girlfriend of several years, recently welcomed their first child (and his fifth).

In case there were any doubts that Britney Spears got engaged ... the star and fiance Jason Trawick celebrated with a massive soiree in Las Vegas Friday.

The pop singer showed off a fairly massive engagement ring, to boot!

Jason, Britney's former agent and boyfriend of several years, popped the question with a three-carat round, Neil Lane stone with a diamond-paved band.

Yeah. Not too shabby, we'd say.

The couple had plenty to celebrate: Spears turned 30 December 2 and wrapped up her world tour December 10, while Jason Trawick turned 40 Thursday.

The result was an intimate gathering at the Planet Hollywood Resort, followed by a big celebratory dinner at the Chocolate Lounge in the Paris Hotel.

Then it was off to Chateau nightclub to party the night away with some of Britney's family and close friends. Sounds pretty perfect if you ask us.

Looks like it's official: Jason Trawick is engaged to Britney Spears!

We reported earlier that his proposal was planned for tonight, but the superstar posted a message on Twitter, hinting that he popped the question, and she said yes!

Britney just wrote the following: "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo."

Trawick planned to get down on one knee during their trip to Las Vegas to this weekend, presumably asking tonight. But according to reports, he couldn't wait!

Sources close to the couple say Jason Trawick has organized a big celebratory dinner this evening at the Chocolate Lounge at the Sugar Factory in the Paris Hotel.

There will be a chocolate fondue and all the men will get chocolate truffle cigars - Britney Spears is a HUGE fan of chocolate, in case you didn't know/guess.

After dinner, it's off to party at club Chateau. Everyone involved has received specific instructions from Jason, too: Anything Britney wants, Britney gets.

We expect her to formally break the news tonight or tomorrow morning, but we've been following this story for weeks now, and it looks 99.9% certain.

It'd be pretty lame if she were just referring to a Chanel bag or something, right?

UPDATE: Make that 100% confirmed ... sources confirm that the engagement took place Thursday night, when Britney and Jason shared an intimate dinner together in honor of Trawick's 40th birthday. She just turned 30 December 2. Celebrations all around!

UPDATE #2: Jason went about it the old fashioned way, asking her father, Jamie Spears, for his blessing. It's no surprise that he got it, since, as her former agent, he was close to the family long before he and Britney began dating. Still, very sweet.

Jason, her former agent, boyfriend of several years, and best thing to happen to her probably ever, is planning to get down on one knee and make it official.

Britney reportedly is aware of his plans, as they've talked about it for some time already, and he already bought her a ring, so it won't be a huge surprise.

Just an AWESOME moment.

Her conservators (dad Jamie and her attorney) have given their stamp of approval, and the matter will go before a judge, who will almost certainly sign off.

Jason Trawick did it the old fashioned way, asking Jamie Spears for permission to marry his daughter. A big fan of his from the start, Jamie happily obliged.

When the time comes to tie the knot, there will be a prenup involved and Jason is said to be perfectly fine with that. He just wants to marry his girl. Aww.

The Spears clan, who have been instrumental in helping resurrect her career after those rough years, all came on stage as she took her final bow.

On hand? Her BF Jason Trawick, mom Lynne Spears, sons Jayden James and Sean Preston Federline, sister Jamie Lynn Spears and niece Maddie Briann Aldridge.

Britney Spears' Family on Stage

Looks like Britney Spears is about to get married for the third time.

Jason Trawick has reportedly bought an engagement ring for the pop singer, who will finish up a successful world tour next week, according to People.

A source close to Spears says "an engagement is imminent" for Britney and Jason Trawick, who have been quietly inseparable for several years now.

"They’ve been talking about marriage for a long time," says a family source. "It would be surprising if they are not engaged by the end of the year."

Will next year bring wedding bells for Britwick?

It could happen as soon as ... this Friday! The singer turns 30 on that day, and Trawick, a 39-year-old Hollywood agent, could have quite a present for his ex-client.

Engagement ring or not, says the source, she's in a great place: "Britney is really looking forward to turning 30. She is having one of the best times of her life."

They certainly seem happy together, and he's been a very stable influence. Until the big news is official, we'll be crossing our fingers and hoping for the best!

So when will he put a ring on it?

After dating the singer for several years, Trawick is reportedly planning to propose to the pop star once her tour concludes in Puerto Rico on December 10.

She also turns 30 on December 2, another rumored date for their engagement, which sources close to the pair say is inevitable and years in the making.

"Britney and Jason discuss marriage all the time. Britney is truly in love with Jason, and well, Jason has loved her for a very long time,” a Spears family insider says.

Jason Trawick "adores her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and they are crazy about him. Jason is planning on taking Britney on a secluded getaway once the tour is wrapped, and it's very likely he will pop the question at that time.”

Legally, Britney would need her father's legal sign-off to get hitched, given that he's still the conservator of her affairs. An engagement doesn't require that, though.

Also, it's likely that her engagement would mark a natural end to the conversatorship that's been in place since 2008. Jamie Spears trusts Jason, and Britney.

Britney's family "is looking forward to the day that Jason will formally be a member of their family. Britney's mom and Jason are very close," a pal reveals.
