With these words, and accompanying visuals, Barbara Walters made Elisabeth Hasselbeck crack up, viewers scratch their heads and Whoopi Goldberg's "eyes bleed."

The 82-year-old was yammering about sex this morning The View, inspired by the erotic novel series 50 Shades of Grey, in which a 20-something girl starts a relationship with an attractive, wealthy man who's into bondage and S&M.

Suffice to say, it was an awkward:

Hasselbeck, a married mother of three, sort of dodged the question by saying she's on a break right now ... but for Whoopi and others, the damage was done.

Bill Maher talked to David Letterman about his fight with Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View, and needless to say, didn't seem eager to apologize and put this to bed.

On the contrary, the outspoken late night comedian seemed more amused than anything that Hasselbeck ambushed him about a joke he once made about her.

"You kind of walked into a deal there, huh?" Letterman said. Maher's response? Diss her and make a reference to former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, obviously ...

"I was abused. I felt like a teenage boy at Penn State," quipped Maher, never one to pass on an un-PC zinger. "It's funny, I am never in the role of the victim... It was like, thank you, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, for making me look good!

"She had some bug up her ass," he added, but then softened his tone. "Look, I'm only kidding. I like her a lot. We have this relationship on TV where we hate each other."

There was a pretty intense showdown on The View yesterday.

Bill Maher appeared on the program, months after making a crack that the U.S. should have sent Elisabeth Hasselbeck to Egypt in exchange for Lara Logan after that CBS journalist was attacked there in February.

Soon after taking a seat on the couch, and making a statement in defense of women with regard to the Jerry Sandusky mess at Penn State, the comedian was asked by the host about this joke. He explained that he lived "on the edge" and it wasn't personal and his audience is HBO... but Hasselbeck was NOT letting Maher off the hook.

"I actually feel smarter sitting next to you," she said at one point, to which Maher replied: “Really? I feel like I’m in high school sitting next to you.”

Justin Bieber was only given a couple minutes to run down a Top 10 List on The Late Show with David Letterman last night.

But the women of The View were far more accommodating to the singer this morning, letting him actually walk out on stage with them and treating him like one of their own.

With the star on hand to promote his new perfume, Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked Justin to sing her something (he obliged with a few notes of "Never Say Never") and then she challenged him to a Segway race!

Every now and then, The View panelists actually engage in an interesting discussion.

Such was the case when the topic of Tracy Morgan, his recent anti-gay rant on stage and subsequent apology came up this week on the talk show.

Whoopi Goldberg didn't defend Morgan's specific outburst, but did speak from experience as a comedian when she said this stuff just happens occasionally on stage: "Sometimes we step in it and it’s bad, and this is one of those times... when a comic has gone over the line and realized it. Not just because people told him, but because he realized it."

Sherri Shepherd, who recurs opposite Morgan on 30 Rock as his character's wife, said a working actor must also represent his show at all times.

And Elisabeth Hasselbeck actually chimed in with a good question: Do the standards for a comedian change in this Internet age, when he/she must be aware that his/her audience expands beyond those in the audience? Should it?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who introduced Sarah Palin at political rallies back in 2008 and campaigned for the V.P. candidate, feels used and abused by her now.

“Elizabeth feels used by the former governor,” a source told PopEater. “She stood up and did everything she could to get Sarah to the White House."

"She was expecting to have made a friend for life. Elizabeth isn’t fake. You might not like her politics, but she is very genuine person." But alas ...

Palin apparently wants nothing to do with her now, which she resents.

“That genuine desire to help inspired Elizabeth to take a break from her home and family and hit the campaign trail. She didn’t mind one bit. What she does mind is a friend who no longer needs her, she doesn’t even return her calls!”

Now she just goes camping with Kate Gosselin. So weak.

Always one to weigh in on the critical issues that define our time, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is not a big fan of Brad Womack. Or at least of Womack becoming The Bachelor for the second time in four seasons, which is all but confirmed.

Her response to his casting: "Ugh! Translation: They couldn't find somebody!"

In 2007, Brad Womack left his season's final two women, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, heartbroken by not doling out a final rose to either one of them.

Kind of a weak move, but also admirable in a sense. Why go through the charade like Jake Pavelka? Still, Hasselbeck says he shouldn't get a second shot.

"He didn't have enough choices before? How many women do you need, Brad?" she asked in an interview with Us. "They should really reevaluate this one."

Kathy Griffin and Elisabeth Hasselbeck are definitely not Facebook friends.

The comedian and the talk show host are at odds this week, following a joke Griffin made on her Bravo series, My Life on the D-List. Speaking to a pair of CNN reporters, Griffin referred to Scott Brown's kids as "prostitutes." Watch the segment NOW.

The Massachusetts Senator stood up for his kids, saying: “People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits... Kathy Griffin and Bravo ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

(Editor's Note: Brown forgot to add that this does not apply to Sarah Palin's tabloid-loving daughter, of course, who goes out of her way to be ON limits.)

Hasselbeck also felt a need to chime in on The View.

When the topic of Griffin's remarks was broached on that gabfest, the conservative commentator went off. Her rant - which you can watch HERE - was concluded when Hasselbeck called Griffin "scum."

Replied the comedian: "You have to remember that the genesis of that whole joke about Scott Brown was that when he won the election he famously said, 'My two daughters are available.' Then he was called a 'pimp' in the Washington press... The bottom line is, lighten up!"

"[Or] suck it! As the great Bette Midler said, 'F--k 'em if they can't take a joke.'"

Was Griffin out of line? Does Hasselbeck need to lighten up? Choose a side in this feud now:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck danced her way out of this one.

Having needlessly bashed Erin Andrews for dressing provocatively on Dancing With the Stars, criticizing her outfits on a dance competition show in which contestants of both genders all dress scantily, Elisabeth felt terrible.

On Tuesday, Hasselbeck implied that Erin should tone it down and said her peephole stalker could've waited a few months to see the goods with less prison time.

Pretty uncool.

Andrews understandably called the commentary "a slap in the face," and Hasselbeck apologized, saying that her young daughter advised her to contact Andrews.

"I wanted to offer that publicly too," Hasselbeck said, and you have to give her credit for that at least, not to mention the sincerity. Here it is:

Elisabeth Apologizes to Erin

Erin Andrews‘s waltz on Monday's Dancing with the Stars was one of her best efforts to date, according to the judges and voters. Just not Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

The View host criticized Erin - who has endured two separate stalking incidents in the past year - for "dressing inappropriately" on the ABC reality competition.

“In light of what happened and as a legal [matter] - and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and peep on her in her hotel,” Hasselbeck said.

“I mean, in some way if I’m him, I’m like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this - a little bit less - without the prison time!’”

That's a bad joke at best, and a very rude insult at worst.

In March, Michael David Barrett was sentenced to federal prison for filming Erin Andrews nude through a hotel peephole and posting a video of her online.

In April, after her Dancing with the Stars debut, Andrews received death threats. Elisabeth apparently thinks she should lock herself at home as a result?

Erin called these remarks “a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators. As a mother and a woman, I’m disappointed she went there.”

Don't even get Maksim Chmerkovskiy started, either. The Dancing With the Stars pro, who's partnered with Erin this season, was far from thrilled.

Chmerkovskiy quickly fired back: "I'm the one designing [Andrews'] dresses for the show, so I'll just assume that [Hasselbeck] is jealous... and stupid."

Pro Louis Van Amstel also defended Andrews, Twittering to Hasselbeck: "Why did u have to throw @erinandrewsespn under the bus this morning?"

"Shame on [you] ... Leave her alone. Aren't u all working for the same network ABC/ESPN???? U should have each other's back, not trashtalk Erin."

Fellow contestant Evan Lysacek also chimed in on the topic: "So disappointed that anyone would attack [her] after all she's been through."

Andrews told Access Hollywood she "cried" after hearing the remarks: "People can have opinions about the show, but my biggest complaint is she's a woman and a mother and it was a mockery of something serious I've lived through."

A little silly to single out Erin on a show where all the stars - men and women - dress and dance suggestively, don't you think? Whose side are you on?
