Funny, flirty Tweeting back and forth isn't exactly typical of couples that just broke up, but it's what Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner are up to apparently.

"It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories," Jenner tweeted, just after his split from his girlfriend of two years, referring to what, we don't know.

"Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her." Avril quickly responded: "luv u 2!!! @BrodyJenner," she wrote.

While that may not sound like a typical couple of folks who have recently parted ways, rest assured, that's one couple that's most definitely ... parted ways.

A source tells E! News that the duo is no longer dating, a reconciliation is not on the table and that the breakup of Bravril was entirely a "mutual decision."

As for those love declarations? Avril is "the kind of girl who stays in touch with her exes" and often tells ex-husband Deryck Whibley the same thing.

So basically, no big whoop.

Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner have said goodbye to their love.

The rocker and the former reality star have split after dating for almost two years, according to close sources. No word on what caused the split or what they're planning to do about the matching tattoos they got when they started dating.

Never, ever do that.

Jenner, whose romance with Lavigne began in early 2010, showed off a tattoo of the "Wish You Were Here" singer's name on his arm in July of that year.

Lavigne debuted her matching tattoo of Brody Jenner's name on her torso the same month while they were both cavorting around on the beach in Malibu.

True love. Hollywood style. Two years there is like 10 anywhere else, so this was more or less successful as relationships go. Sorry to see it end, though.

Looks like The Help is turning on The Kardashians.

A former family nanny is shopping a tell-all book about her time with the famous family before they were that famous. Spoiler alert: She's not a big fan!

Pam Behan, served as a nanny, personal assistant and cook for Bruce and Kris Jenner for years, getting to know the Kardashian girls and Brody Jenner.

She couldn't stand Brody or his brother Brandon (Bruce's kids from his first marriage), calling the two Jenner boys "extremely spoiled and disrespectful."

As for the K-squad?

Pam describes her relationship with Kris Jenner as a "love/hate" thing. We totally get it. Sort of like THG's relationship with her, only without the first part.

Despite selling him out in a book, she seems somewhat fond of Bruce, claiming he helped her avoid prosecution when she was busted for DUI a while back.

Behan promises to reveal some "intimate details" about Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, which is surprising, as the girls were reportedly very fond of her.

Then again, it could be one of those empty promises used to sell books, since no one would by a tell-all about Brody Jenner. Sorry B. Just how it is.

Several agents have indicated interest, but no deal has been struck yet.

Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne reportedly ended up in a bloody bar brawl this weekend that led to a bottle being smashed in his face at the Hollywood Roosevelt.

Not a bloody brawl with each other, obviously.

Police are still investigating, but the incident happened after Lavigne got into an altercation with another woman and Jenner, chivalrously, tried to break it up.

Then things apparently got ugly in a hurry.

Punches were thrown, cops arrived and Jenner landed in the hospital with a big gash on his face. The Brodster reportedly received several stitches.

Prior to the incident, he tweeted, "Having the best night with the love of my life @AvrilLavigne so happy right now!! .. #Movember CRUSH!! haha".

Just hours later, he updated that, saying "Interesting Saturday night... Just got of the hospital with a new scar on my face.. Charges/chargers!!!"

Sometimes you gotta fight for love ... and get into altercations at clubs like it's your job. Which for Brody Jenner, it always kind of has been/is.

Brody Jenner is not only retracting his allegation that Joe Francis beat up Jayde Nicole (Brody's then-girlfriend), he's apologizing to his former enemy.

He's obligated to, of course, as part of the settlement to their legal war over an incident that took place between the three of them in August 2009.

Jayde Nicole said Francis pulled her hair and punched her in the face in a wild nightclub melee that ended with a chivalrous Jenner getting tasered.

Bromance means being able to own up to it when you're wrong.

Their stories varied, but Joe was too close to his ex (and Jayde's BFF) Abbey Wilson for the couple's liking. Jayde sued the Girls Gone Wild founder.

That's all water under the bridge now. Brody and Jayde split last December, and after settling with Francis, he writes as part of this public apology:

"I would like to acknowledge for the record that media reports that you beat up Jayde Nicole that night ... were completely inaccurate."

We've already discussed Brody Jenner's mohawk and the reality star's hair-raising (or cutting) tributes to his lady love. But now he's given it a new twist.

Taking his devotion to new, even-more-whipped heights, he recently shaved an "A" into the side of his head in honor of his girlfriend, Avril Lavigne.

If you thought Brody Jenner's mohawk was crazy, wait until you see the dude's latest hair-raising maneuver and tribute to punk-pop princess girlfriend Avril Lavigne.

The Hills star and his woman, who have been dating since early 2010, hit the streets of L.A. with the hunk sporting an “A” shaved on the side of his dome.

If he did that for every celebrity he's dated, he could pretty much write out the whole alphabet. Or at least L, C, K, N and J, and probably more we missed.

Anyway, we can support the move on at least one level - while his Avril Lavigne tattoo is there to stay, at least he can just grow his hair back if needed ...

Some changes in celebrity hairstyles, such as Angelina Jolie's, are subtle and don't spark too much criticism. Brody Jenner's new look is a little different.

The Hills hunk and VIP scene mainstay Brody Jenner stepped out at Hollywood's Katsuya restaurant Saturday with a major hair makeover: a mohawk!

Brody had the sides of his curly dark locks shaved off for a punk new 'do. Perhaps he did it for a change of pace ... or the approval of the girl he loves.

Jenner is currently dating allegedly edgy rocker Avril Lavigne. While the mohawk may be panned by fans, it can be fixed faster than Brody's Avril tattoo.

Having just been a part of scripted history in the climactic scene on Tuesday's series finale of The Hills, is Brody Jenner already planning a return to reality TV?

In Touch Weekly reports that Brody, who's been on like 13 shows already, is actively pitching a new show for himself and Avril Lavigne - his real girlfriend.

That stuff with Kristin Cavallari was all fake.

According to insiders, Avril isn't down with the idea, so Brody has been "begging" her to consider it. Supposedly, she's "so in love with him" she might agree.

Maybe that's why he got that tattoo. Now she has to do it, right? Look at the strength of commitment he showed to their relationship ... reciprocate, already!

Basically, it sounds she doesn't want to say no - but she REALLY doesn't want to do it either. Bet you she caves, though. The women of Hollywood usually do.

Can you blame them? It's Brody Jenner.

With tearful goodbyes, key story lines wrapped up and a post-show appearance by former star Lauren Conrad, much fanfare surrounded The Hills finale.

But while the live after-party (click here for cast photos) celebrated the six-season run, many fans were left scratching their heads about the last scene.

As Tuesday's episode drew to a close, Kristin Cavallari stepped into a waiting car destined for the airport, allegedly to catch a flight bound for Europe.

She left a tearful Brody Jenner behind, waving goodbye ... or not. The camera panned out to reveal the entire production crew, set and cameramen.

Did The Hills just punk viewers who ate this stuff up for six seasons, then rub their noses in it with an overt F-You to end the last of its 102 episodes?

That's what it felt like!

Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari make a good-looking fake couple.

"The thing is, as you saw at the end, what's real, what's fake, you don't know," Jenner said. "Our relationship, the entire time could have been fake. That's one of the questions: what was real and what was fake, and we left it [open]."

Kristin Cavallari said she enjoyed the way the show concluded: "I think we both couldn't have been happier with the ending. We were speechless."

The acting was pretty good, we'll admit.

Their co-star, Lo Bosworth, was equally impressed with the way The Hills finale came to an end: "You know when the last scenes of the show were happening, I got a little [lump] in my throat," she said. "They were great. I loved it."

Come on. While not every aspect of the show is fake (most likely), there's not much interpretation to do about Brody and Kristin. It was all fake, not real.

She's dating a Hills cameraman and knew full well he has been with Avril Lavigne. Which is fine, except that MTV always billed this as a reality show. Now they're admitting they script whatever they want, but with some profound point?
