Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez is playing hardball against wife Cynthia in their divorce case, saying he wants their prenuptial agreement enforced.

In court papers obtained by the New York Daily News, A-Rod's side responds point by point to the July 7 divorce filing by Cynthia Rodriguez.

A-Rod admits the marriage is "irretrievably broken," but because Florida is a no-fault divorce state, he doesn't have to say why - and won't.

Claims that he "emotionally abandoned his wife and children" and that they broke up because of his "extramarital affairs and marital misconduct" are "immaterial and impertinent and should be stricken," Alex's court filing states.

This is in response to her petition to the court, in which Cynthia Rodriguez asked for the couple's $12 million estate and "equitable distribution" of all assets acquired during her six-year marriage to Alex Rodriguez.

While naming no figure, she petitioned for alimony and support, including benefits as life and health insurance and private schools - suggesting she be able to maintain the "high standard of living" A-Rod has provided.

A-Rod, whose 10-year, $275 million contract with the New York Yankees makes him baseball's highest-paid player, says he wants the prenup enforced. What the terms are is not known, but apparently they don't suit Cynthia.

Guess he has a history of being brainwashed.

Several friends of New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez say estranged wife Cynthia Rodriguez "brainwashed him," the New York Daily News reports.

"Alex has always been into psychotherapy, looking for ways to make himself mentally stronger," a longtime confidante told the paper.

"Cynthia Rodriguez has a master's degree in psychology. Once she found out how vulnerable he was, she got into his head. Several of us begged him not to marry this woman, but he went ahead and did it anyway."

Did she allegedly abuse him this way because of his threesomes?

Not entirely, at least. A source suggests that C-Rod, who is Greek Orthodox, always disliked her husband's image as a Latino sports star and repeatedly urged him to downplay his Dominican heritage.

"She didn't want him typecast as a Latin player. She discouraged him from taking part in Hispanic community events," the source said.

As for the troubled third baseman's alleged "affair of the heart" (or sex tape) with Madonna that led to his separation from Cynthia, a source tells the Daily News that ironically, "Cynthia's the reason Alex met Madonna."

"She kept hounding him to call [Madonna's manager] Guy Oseary and get them backstage at one of her concerts."

Cynthia Rodriguez wants to know everything about Alex Rodriguez.

That includes his finances, what women he's had affairs with (cough, Candice Houlihan) and also if he's ben wiretapping and putting private detectives on her.

Seriously, it's in the latest court papers filed by C-Rod.

She is demanding that Alex Rodriguez produce documents about all things financial - his tax returns, banking specifics, mortgage applications, stock portfolio data, wills and life insurance. But that's not even the juicy part.

Cynthia Rodriguez wants "any reports you have received from a detective, investigator or any other person based upon surveillance of your spouse."

Alex Rodriguez reunited with Cynthia Rodriguez in Toronto last weekend, so he could see his two children. These Rods are still very much separated.

On top of that, she wants "all tape recordings and other evidence prepared from tape recordings made in connection with any wiretapping or other electronic surveillance conducted by you or others on your behalf."

Cynthia Rodriguez also wants "all electronic evidence ... contained in all computers to which you have access" over the last three years.

That means iPhones, BlackBerries, the works. Was A-Rod keeping tabs on his old lady - and will it come back to bite him?

Cynthia Rodriguez is speaking out publicly for the first time since filing for divorce on Monday from Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

She still loves her husband, Rodriguez told New York Post columnist Cindy Adams. But his alleged infidelities - Joslyn Morse, Candice Houlihan, possibly Alicia Marie, and so on - had simply caused her too much pain.

C-Rod, who is in Miami with her two small daughters while Alex remains in New York, revealed that her husband supported her leaving town when news of his alleged affair - of the heart, or otherwise - with Madonna.

"My husband knew I was going. He encouraged it," says Cynthia Rodriguez.

"I needed to get away. With clear-headed friends. To breathe. To think how I'm going to handle my kids. I just needed a little time."

Scorned spouse Cynthia Rodriguez said that the couple's three-year-old daughter, Natasha, has been asking for her father and saying, "I miss my daddy," according to this morning's New York Post.

The All-Star's estranged wife also denied reports that she ran off to Paris with "pal" Lenny Kravitz and went on a $100,000 shopping spree just to punish her husband, leaving her girls, including 11-week-old baby Ella, at home.

New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez was smitten with Madonna six months ago, exchanging text messages with her in Miami while dining with a friend, according to iffy unnamed sources quoted by Us Weekly.

"He kept smiling, acting as if he was a little kid," the dinner companion told the celebrity news mag. "He told me it was Madonna. I was shocked."

The highest-paid player in baseball then "proceeded to say he was in love with her," the pal tells Us. "I thought he was kidding, but he wasn't."

By February, the 32-year-old slugger had upped the ante. "He said, 'She's my f--king soulmate, dude,'" the supposed friend reports.

On Monday, Cynthia Rodriguez, A-Rod's wife of nearly five years, filed for divorce. Last week, news broke that Alex had been making late night visits to Madonna's apartment. Sources are calling it an "affair of the heart."

"Without talking about specifics of sexual conduct, there's no question [that there was an affair]," C-Rod's attorney, Earle Lilly, said in a statement. "No one very often has pictures of the actual sex itself."

Cynthia Rodriguez is reeling as her husband, Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, apparently had numerous affairs (of the heart, and sometimes more).

Another scorned spouse, Christie Brinkley, certainly can relate.

Her estranged husband, Peter Cook, has had 35 sexual partners (one of whom was a teenager he tried to bribe $300,000 to shut the eff up afterwards).

Asked if she has any words of advice for C-Rod, C-Brink told the New York Daily News that "I think that the best advice I could give Mrs. Rodriguez is to hire [my attorney] Bob Cohen."

Not to worry, Christie Brinkley. Cynthia Rodriguez is already lawyering up.

Besides, at this rate, there's about one fling (thanks, Alicia Marie!) coming out of the woodwork every day. Any lawyer could win this case.

A friend tells the New York Daily News that she spent close to $100,000 on his credit cards as payback for his "affair of the heart" with Madonna.

"She's been spending wildly," the pal tells the paper.

After the scandal broke, Cynthia Rodriguez flew to Paris to be with Lenny Kravitz, who denies their relationship is anything but friendship.

However, what's alleged here is that C-Rod "had spa treatments [and] went to the best restaurants" â€" all on A-Rod's dime. Sucka!!

The pal says Cynthia has been keeping the cheating, brainwashed A-Rod from their children, Natasha, 3, and Ella, born just two months ago. The friend also went on to rip Cynthia Rodriguez for hiring four divorce attorneys.

"She needs four lawyers in four states?" the pal asked, according to the Daily News. "That's not the dream team. That's the greed team."

Although the couple had a pre-nup, C-Rod believes she should get up to half of the $140 million A-Rod earned since their 2002 marriage - as well as their $12 million Miami estate, alimony and custody of their two kids.

Cynthia Rodriguez has multiple husbands? Who knew!

After putting up with her husband's liaisons with Joslyn Morse and others, Cynthia Rodriguez finally left Yankees star Alex Rodriguez over his rumored affair with Madonna - or at least his newfound interest in Kabbalah.

"Cynthia has left Alex," a source close to C-Rod confirmed. "Let's see if she goes for the divorce. He made her sign a prenup. Cynthia is a strong person, but a wife with two young children can only take so much."

Cynthia Rodriguez will file for divorce today in Florida, citing the Rod's "emotional abandonment" but not naming Madonna in the official filings.

Another source close to the slugger's wife adds:

"The embarrassment over Madonna was the final straw. [Cynthia Rodriguez] flew to Paris to get out of town before everything blew up between them. There is no affair with Lenny Kravitz. They are good friends.'"

Alex Rodriguez belted his 536th career dinger last night, but he hasn't been hitting any home runs off the field with Madonna or Cynthia Rodriguez, apparently.

Kravitz denies that his relationship with Cynthia Rodriguez is romantic, and Madonna issued a similar denial of railing A-Rod over the weekend.

However, according to the New York Post, Alex Rodriguez's former trainer Dodd Romero, the godfather to the couple's two daughters, believes the player drifted apart from his family "by the excitement of Madonna."

Alex Rodriguez's wife Cynthia Rodriguez - who has been staying at Lenny Kravitz's home in Paris, France, since Tuesday - has "strong suspicions" about Madonna and her estranged husband's "friendship" with the singer.

"She doesn't believe they are just friends," says an insider quoted by Us Weekly.

"Something deeply suspicious is happening here. Cynthia did indeed leave [New York City] because she is convinced this is all true."

Cynthia Rodriguez, 34, and Alex Rodriguez, 32, have split up after "three months of problems," the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.

She stood by him last year amid his infidelity with manly stripper Joslyn Morse. But the final straw in their relationship was apparently Madonna.

Specifically, that A-Rod was making late night visits to Madonna's pad - including right after C-Rod gave birth to their second child.

Thursday, a source said: "[Alex Rodriguez] literally left 10 minutes after the baby was born (this April), and was at Madonna's. It's true. It's crazy."

Whether or not they are having affairs, Cynthia is definitely out of the U.S. She was spotted outside of Lenny Kravitz's Paris home on Tuesday.

Kravitz today denied any role in A-Rod's marriage drama, but admitted that Cynthia came to stay with him to get away from everything in N.Y.
