Rose Ann Davidson Gets Sixth DUI, Sentenced to LIFE

by at .  Updated at . Comments

You know how some people never learn?

The first FIVE times Rose Ann Davidson got busted for drunken driving, she managed to avoid lengthy jail sentences. Not the case with the sixth.

She's going to prison. For life.

Rose Ann Davidson Mug Shot

The Austin American-Statesman reports that a jury gave the 44-year-old Texas woman a life sentence in court this week in a truly shocking move.

On the other hand ... six. Just saying.

Davidson's first conviction came in 1996, and the one that landed her the life sentence occurred in 2012. That's a long track record of acting dangerously.

And it's over.

It should be this way in all courtrooms for DUIs, 3 strikes and you're in prison for life. PERIOD!!!

Life in prison is ridiculous. This is a sick woman that needs help with her alcoholism. She should be sent to a rehab and forced to stay there for several years. Even 5 years but life in prison just tells me the Texas justice system is screwed up.

There's no error here. All other ways the justice system tried to work with her failed - and put others at risk at the same time when she drove drunk again and again. This time all others will be safe from her for a long long time, and that's a plus for innocents who might be killed by her.

The prison system is screwed up, but it's screwed up in the best possible way. At least it is this time. Now if only they will do the same for the rest of the U.S.

Don't mess with Texas! She's exactly where she should be.

Wow..I bet people in Texas will think again before drinking and driving. But she endangered people's lives PLENTY of times she only got caught 6 times so yea I'd say she got what she had coming.

............this isn't justice.

@ abe

It is. At some point she would have killed someone, what if that person was your mother?

That's the problem with DUIs. They should be tossed into jail the first time, not wait till multiple offences have occurred.
