Well, this is about as awful as it gets.
A St. Louis woman named Adrienne Martin has been arrested after setting fire to a three-year old dog and bragging about the killing on Facebook.
The charred shepherd-terrier (named Brownie) was discovered by its owner on July 10, a day after Martin took to Facebook and wrote message that included "I'm on killa mode... #killdogs.com."
It is believed the canine - who was taken to Stray Rescue of St. Louis for medical treatment, but died from organ failure - belonged to Martin's sister.
“When I got the call he passed away, all I could do was cry and then pray for the strength to make sure justice is served,” said Randy Grim, founder of Stray Rescue. “This is one of the saddest and worst cases I have ever dealt with.”
After initially denying the crime, Martin admitted it to police.
She has a criminal history and was previously charged with endangering the welfare of a child. In this case, Martin faces counts of felony animal abuse and the felony of “knowingly burning” an animal.
