Michelle Duggar: Abortion is "Baby Holocaust"

Michelle Duggar weighed in on the Texas legislature’s debate on a law that seek to restrict abortion in the state, calling the procedure a “baby holocaust.”

The conservative Christian star of the hit TLC show 19 Kids and Counting told a pro-life crowd in Austin that she is against abortion, to put it mildly.

Flanked by son Josh Duggar of the Family Research Council, she likened abortion to Hitler’s attempted eradication of the Jews in World War II.

"Baby holocaust" or not, the issue is being more hotly debated than ever thanks to a controversial Texas abortion bill that would severely limit its practice.

It would have passed last month were it not for the now-famous 11-hour filibuster from Wendy Davis, a pro-choice Democratic Texas State Senator.

Davis effectively ran out the clock on the Texas legislature's previous session by holding the floor for half a day, leaving the anti-abortion bill in limbo.

Gov. Rick Perry (R), who just announced he will not seek reelection, promptly scheduled another session of the legislature in an attempt to pass it.

Michelle Duggar, a mother of 19 and an outspoken advocate in the pro-life movement, could not be more opposed to Davis' position on this topic.

She said that elected officials who are pro-choice need to be replaced.

“If those who are voted into office do not support life, then they need to be replaced by those who do,” she said, the San Antonio Express reported.

The Duggars are no strangers to politics. In the 2012 election, they campaigned for Rick Santorum due to his "pro-life and pro-family stance."

On a less controversial note, they are no strangers to comfort food. Pro-choice or pro-life, Duggar family recipes are (21-person) crowd pleasers.

Where do you stand on the issue of abortion?

The best way to preent baortio is birth control people. Just because abortion is available doesn't mean you can just do whatever you want. I disagree with 95% of the Duggars views but one thing we can all agree on is responsibility.

"Obortion is a holocaust" so let's have 20 kids and go on welfare because we can't support them on our own. Or even better, with the homes over floating already let's give away our kid so he can grow up messed up knowing his parents didn't want him and possibly spend his life living on the street committing robberies or who knows what other crimes. This life is way better for the kid to go thru life suffering. I don't tell senators of Texas what to do with their wife's vagina so they need to stay out of mine.

@ lulu

If you think children who were adopted grow up with a "messed up life" and commit all kinds of crimes, you clearly don't have a very good grasp on adoption. idiot.

With the world population currently just over 7 billion people, abortion isn't just a choice anymore it's a must. If you have more than three children from more than three different relationships you should not be allowed to breed any longer by law. Being that decision making is a major sign of intelligence, those who constantly make "ignorant" decisions in regards to sexual partners are only contributing to the "dumbing down of the human race".
In my opinion, the Duggars are the worst of the worst. Narrow minded, Bible thumpers who constantly breed and try to influence other idiotic families to do so as well. All this does is dumb down the entire human race. Just think, years from now, 50% of the planet will have the Duggars same moronic sense of humor and outlandishly hypocritical "morals".
