Rihanna-Princess Diana Photo Covers UK Sunday Times

by at .  Updated at .

Rihanna's been called many things, good and bad, over the years ... but the second coming of Princess Diana has never been one of them. Until now.

The 25-year-old singer's face is digitally stitched to match the visage of the late Princess of Wales on the latest cover of the UK's Sunday Times Magazine.

If their goal was to generate buzz? Mission accomplished!

Rihanna, Princess Di Photo

How did they link Rihanna and Princess Di, the mother of Prince William, and not the more obvious figure of Kate Middleton? The cover story begins:

"Rihanna is in love with the camera, and the camera is in love with her."

"Not since Diana rocketed from a shy kindergarten aide to a lean, mean fashion machine has there been such a ravishingly seductive flirtation with the world press."

"Like Diana, she has drifted into using photo ops to send messages of allure, defiance or revenge in a turbulent relationship with an errant partner."

For her part, Rihanna, seems rather flattered by the comparison.

"Just so happens I came home drunk to this in a pile of papers outside my hotel room!" she wrote late Sunday evening, after debuting her fashion line in London.

"My lil Bajan behind, never thought these many people would even know my name, now it's next to Princess Diana's on the front of a newspaper!"

"Life can be such a beautiful thing when you let it be #yourejealous," she concluded. "When your face is pic-stitched to Princess Diana's on the cover of The Sunday Times…"

"I mean…#extraordinaRIHbehavior."

Very much out of the ordinaRIH.

What do you think of the comparison between Rihanna and Princess Diana? Do you think it's at all legitimate? Cast your vote in our survey!

And by the way, Diana's beauty was natural. Without war paint, Rihanna is plain. You put that much makeup on a pig, and they'd look good too.

Rihanna wishes she had even half the class of Diana. This stunt is totally disrespectful to Diana's still living sons and other relatives. Shame on her and the mag for doing this!!!

Rihanna felt complimented? She was drunk when she found this photo? Those two things by themselves pretty much say it all. Imagine Princess Di or Princess Kate saying those things. Not fuggn likely. Rihanna should feel embarrassed. Now her already fugged up life is being compared VERY UNFAVORABLY with two of the most respected icons in recent history. This respect held for Diana especially is a REAL RESPECT unlike anything Rihanna could only dream about. In this comparison it is clearly show how immensely incapable such people as Rihanna are to reaching this level of intellect or humanity. Its a comparison of proportions in that of putting an underground sewer pipe and it's contents on a dinner table at a high class Paris France restuarant. Makes your mouth water doesn't it? Imagine the smell! Well this stinks too. I've said before many people hate the Royals. I'm sure this was aimed more at them than Rihanna. But you can at least understand why Rihanna was chosen. Comparing her to either princess was a royally lowest of insults. I believe in free speech but this is slander. Slander is not a right inclusive in free speech. This shouldn't be left upon the Royals to deal with either. We who didn't like this should let our free speech rights be felt as well and bombard this "newspaper" out of existance with emails full of our most insulting thoughts. They some sick bitches to go this far.

This is bull$hit! Princess Di was a pure natural beauty. Rianna is a painted tainted piece of garbage.Rianna's face was loaded with makeup, even before she was brutilized by that punk.
