George Lucas to Donate Bulk of $4B From Lucasfilm Sale to Charity

The upcoming Star Wars Episode 7 will to a lot more good than satisfy legions of fans: Most of the $4 billion George Lucas will get from selling Lucasfilm to Disney will go to charity.

Lucas "has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors,” a rep for the filmmaker said.

The 68-year-old heads the George Lucas Educational Foundation, which primarily focuses on educational issues. He once donated $175 million to his alma mater, USC.

Major respect for the huge charitable giving from the film icon.

As for Star Wars Episode 7 ... are you excited for what?!

    In 1980 when the second movie came out he said he had 9 scripts ready to go.
