Stevie Wonder Apologizes for Controversial Statement on Gays

by at .

Stevie Wonder has issued an apology and an explanation following comments made in an interview with The Guardian.

Asked about the admission by Frank Ocean that he's been in a same-sex relationship, the legendary musician took his foot, placed it directly in his mouth and replied:

"I think honestly, some people who think they're gay, they're confused. People can misconstrue closeness for love. People can feel connected, they bond. I'm not saying all [gay people are confused]. Some people have a desire to be with the same sex. But that's them."

Stevie Wonder has just called to say he's sorry.

An unusual, confusing answer - and one Wonder quickly attempted to clarify in a statement. He told The Advocate:

"I'm sorry that my words about anyone feeling confused about their love were misunderstood.

"No one has been a greater advocate for the power of love in this world than I; both in my life and in my music. Clearly, love is love, between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, a woman and a woman and a man and a man. What I'm not confused about is the world needing much more love, no hate, no prejudice, no bigotry and more unity, peace and understanding. Period."

"me" there are many people who follow Jesus Christ, Christians who are neither filled with hate nor anger they may at times get angry or have to deal with hate however they are not about hate, We follow Christ because We Hope, for a better day or light, for warmth We join a Church to belong, not to be on the outside or alone to be stronger than we are sometimes this goes wrong we see abuse within churches be that the abuse scandals or the hatred/Laws towards Gay people, Jesus Christ did not die to defend these Jewish Laws that condemned Gay People, St Paul&Timothy wrote / built these anti Gay views into The Bible, not Christ.

Many American's and Christian's are content as long as its someone else being abused / mis treated by Churches, School's and those who run them, that's perhaps the main reason why more Gay people are abused, because in real life they have and continue to have less rights/protection than many other's the simple fact is from an early age Gay people must learn how to protect&fight! being nice or bitchy or hiding away is not, never will be enough to protect , real world is Jesus may love You however the power people who run the Churches&School's do not!
