Having battled body image issues for most of her life, Demi Lovato has taken what she believes to be a big step in her ongoing recovery:

The singer Tweeted a photo of herself in a bikini this afternoon. Along with it, she wrote:

I’ve been working so hard to get healthy and fit.. I can’t believe I’m about to do this but I’m so excited.. Here’s my bikini time body!

I never thought I’d ever feel confident enough to ever to that. I’m excited how far I’ve come since being completely ashamed of my body..I want any girl/guy out there who struggles with body image or confidence to know that it IS possible to find peace with yourself.

It hasn’t been easy, but it starts with a commitment to yourself.. Your mind.. And your soul. And trust me, I’m still working at it!! Haha.

Looking good, Demi! But, more importantly, we hope you're happy with yourself even if you didn't look so good.

    Hi I have Ben working on my body forever but it never seems to be the right size so I know how you fell I have major confidence problems I'm not that skinny I'm kinda chunky my x got to me and I kinda gave up but I'm starting o try agin so hopefully I can get on track but sometimes we all just need a helping hand to keep us going that's my problem
