American Idol Elimination: Who Remains?
Despite having two chances to sing for the votes of viewers on Tuesday night, no American Idol finalist distinguished himself or herself this week.
There was no clear cut favorite to stick around or to be sent home, making this evening's elimination the most difficult of the season to predict.
So, which unlucky crooner won't be taking us back to his hometown next week?
Jams Durbin heard his name called by Ryan Seacrest tonight, surprising many viewers who thought the aspiring rocker had the best chance to go all the way.
"I worked so damn hard to get here," James said, fighting back tears. "God, I was really hoping to get there, but, you know, I had a feeling today. God, I did so much stuff that's never been done on this show before... In my eyes, in my mind, I did what I came here to do - and that was to give metal a chance."
He then performed "Maybe I'm Amazed" as his farewell song.
This leaves three contestants remaining: Scotty McCreary, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart. Did the viewers get it right by voting off Durbin?

OK, GAVE THE SHOW ANOTHER CHANCE AFTER PIA WAS ELIMINATED--NOW I AM DONE WITH IT. WHEN THE VOTING IS CHANGED I WILL BEGIN TO WATCH AGAIN.
I WAS AS UPSET FOR JAMES AS I WAS FOR PIA.--HOW IN THE WORLD CAN HALEY, SUPER BITCH WITH LIMITED TALENT BE IN THE TOP 3!!!!

James was the most versatile, multi talented performer Idol had this season.. it goes to show you that America ( or the voters ) are very unsafisticated and are really not in touch with music and raw talent.. too bad.. but he will make it. in spite of this.. his future is secure

I truly hope we are not going to see the two showdown of the very young Country Singers. Haley you go girl!

It is obvious who the producers want to have in the Finale... Hopefully the girl will be Haley... Gifted & Raw talent. The other two are so boring.

Haley is a phenomenal singer, a throwback to a time when singing meant something. My hope is that she will someday do a Judy Garland song -- "Smile", for example. She has infectious charm, and that, more than her vocal power and range, is what speaks to my heart.
The voting system at American Idol is ridiculously dysfunctional. More often than not, the poor singers are the ones who advance. So yes, it IS shocking when a brilliant singer with intelligence and artistic integrity reaches the final three.

James is a good singer and proformer but metal has pretty well gone to the past as he said.
The final run off will be Scotty and Laurn unless someone holds Laurn's age against her.

I couldn't believe that James was kicked off. He should have won. America has officially pulled yet another "Daughtry" and sent the best home. But, like Chris, I have no doubt he'll still go far. He has way too much talent to let him slip back through the cracks of obscurity.

I cant believe James is gone. James you can go far with your voice. Hopefuly Scotty can take it. The girls are not in to win it. Thats all I have to say.
