Angelina Jolie Makes Plea on Behalf of Libyan Refugees
With dangerous protests taking place in Libya, Angelina Jolie released a statement today that takes up the cause of refugees fleeing the troubled country, along with those in Africa's Cote d'Ivoire.
Said this UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador:
"We don't want to look back and find their deaths on our hands. As we witness these newest crises unfold in west and north Africa, it is critical that all parties respect the fundamental right of people in danger to flee to safety. All I'm asking is that civilians be protected, and not targeted or harmed."
Jolie has been in been in Kabul, Afghanistan this week, spending with with residents that are attempting to return home after a decade of exile.
"We need to remember that if we don't support these people in the long term to really get back on their feet, we will see a continued cycle of instability and new crises," she said.
Earlier this year, Jolie and Pitt donated $2 million to a Namibian wildlife refuge. As we often ask: how awesome is Angelina Jolie?!?

First of all let us remember that Angelina is an actress, that is her job therefore of course the looks of concern and the tiny noises of disbelief come easy to her. And yes it was so kind of her to pay for 177 refugees to go home. I wonder how the choices were made? Also it is not even a drop of water in the huge sea of refugees that are on the Tuniisan border. Having been to Tunisia many times and having a lot of friends there I have seen first hand that the poorest Tunisian will donate whatever he or she can getting no thanks no media attention. Might I add that they do not want it as they are doing it from the kindness of their hearts not for a media plug. And here she is all the money that a person could want and thats all she can do? You can donate all the money you want to protect wildlife but in the end if a person is hun gry and his family is starving he does not care if it is the last cow alive all he thinks of is feeding his family. THANK YOU, you share when others don't, making a better world, people in Libya are fighting for freedom and are ready to die for it & are dying now even if meant facing air, sea or land heavy weapons with their bodies.
To know their cause is heard and people are supporting their noble cause is great & to do something about it is even greater...

Agree 100% Null!! Every time I say anything like that hella ppl (ie payed employees of hers) jump all over me cuz they don't want others to believe or know the truth. Say it loud say it proud!!
