Mel Gibson Admits Slapping, Not Hitting Oksana Grigorieva; Claims He Had to Protect Daughter
Mel Gibson apparently admitted "slapping" Oksana Grigorieva in a sworn court declaration, but his account of their blowout fight is very different than hers.
According to the declaration obtained by TMZ, Mel admits slapping - not hitting - Oksana after she became so hysterical that she was endangering their baby.
In the January 6 fight that sparked a domestic violence investigation, Oksana claims Mel punched her in the temple and the mouth, knocking out two teeth.
But Mel tells a very different story.
Mel says he and Oksana were arguing at his home when Oksana grabbed Lucia out her of bassinet, brought her right in the middle of the argument, screaming, "Stop yelling or you will make her into a retarded brain damaged idiot!"
Oksana then "spun around," according to Mel, and ran out into the backyard, which the actor says is dangerous at night, set on different levels and dimly lit. Oksana ran across the various levels for about 75 yards, near thorny trees.
Mel says he implored Oksana to bring Lucia back inside, which she did, but "while jerking her body from side to side to keep Lucia out of my reach."
Oksana was "hysterical" and her "rapid movements were causing Lucia's little body to be flung from one side to the other, her head shaking violently."
Mel says he feared Shaken Baby Syndrome and when she refused to hand the baby over and continued her "rough and erratic movements," Mel says, "I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality."
"I did not slap [Oksana Grigorieva] hard, I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back and forth."
"I did not hit Oksana with a closed fist, as she alleges. I did not punch her in the face, in the temple or anywhere else, not then or at any other time."
"There was never any blood and no teeth were 'broken,' although one of the false veneers from a tooth apparently came off, I did not see that occur."
"While I do not believe I handled the situation as well as I should have, I was worried about the way Oksana was shaking and tossing Lucia around."
"My hand never touched any part of Lucia."
As we talked about last week, the pediatrician who examined Lucia saw no evidence of injury to the baby. So was Oksana lying about the abuse?
In any event, Mel's story could establish a defense to her domestic violence allegations, using reasonable force to protect a child from injury.

Is Oksana trying to make this seem much worse to bilk Mel, or is he trying to cover up what really happened and beat the rap after beating her?

My argument Whopper Junior was that people say racist shit all the time whether they are black, white, brown it doesn't matter!!! If your "not" a hypocrite you would say you have also!!! However, racism is only highlighted in discussion by blacks especially, when it is a white person making the racist statement... So if you would have read in between the lines of my comment I think you could have come up with my argument (or statement) whatever you prefer... I didn't think I had to spell it all out for peeps... Also, I have no problem calling anyone a hypocrite to their face, but what does it matter? I'm not trying to be a keyboard warrior and spout off about how if you seen me you would shit your pants!!! Not to say that I don't do that at times, but sometimes you just realize it's pointless!!! So I guess the main point is everyone is a racist no matter how you slice it, so why keep using it as a word to discredit people when in reality your one of the same???? I hate people and love

I think Oksana was threatening Mel with Lucia. I think she wanted more money and used Lucia as pawn. I think I would be worried and maybe lacking in judgement if my spouse was shaking our child around and endangering his/hers life. I believe any parent would do something drastic such as slap them to see if that would snapp them out of histerics.

It seems that people are very willing to give Mel a break when he refers to slapping someone as not hitting them.(huhhh??) Let someone slap you in the face and then say .. "i didnt hit you". I'm sure you would be quick to disagree !! Mel Gibson's explanantion for putting his hands on Oksana while she was holding the baby is insulting and just plain LAME. Call the police ..child protective services, his lawyers !! Where was his brain ?? (probably in his pants waiting patiently for Mel to force Oksana to perform fellatio while Mel burned the house down). I am amazed at the number of people on here who think that somehow Mel was pushed to it by Oskana...thereby making him out to be a poor,helpless man (gagging) who cannot possibly be held responsible for what he SAYS or DOES (gimme a break) Mel Gibsons is not some young, naive boy..he is a grown ass man and a capable businessman. If anyone one of us rang someone making threats or slapped someone..WE WOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR ACTIO

BTW, a non-hypocrite and non-racist supporter would at least acknowledge that Mel Gibson has had a history of making racist and anti-semetic remarks and then state his argument rather than just focus on attacking a Black Female for calling a white male (Mel) a racist. So that makes "the wicked" a hypocrite and a racist. I would bet Mel Gibson's 401K that "the wicked" would be too much of "the coward" to call a Black woman a hyprocrite to her face.

Mel Gibson claims that Oksana was "hysterical" so he had to slap her. I know this is going to sound rational but wasn't Mel the one that was completely "hysterical" and psychotic in the voice recordings between him and Oksana. The tape recording is real evidence against Mel. Oksana went to the emergency room with a beaten face and broken teeth. There is evidence on tape of Mel threatening Oksana with violence. Mel has no evidence of Oksana having a dangerous hysterical fit. He never contacted child services or the police to report safety concerns for his daughter. If things happened the way Mel said, there is no doubt in my mind that he would have used the opportunity to call the police and get this woman in trouble so he could take the baby. BTW, OJ Simpson was a "family man" (like Mel) but that didn't make him a non abuser. If Oksana hadn't gone public, Mel might have killed her by now the same way OJ killed his ex wife.

I don't totally believe his side of the story either, but if one cuts both stories down the middle and blends them, I believe one comes to the realization that she was "off" with the baby in her arms which is wrong.

Team Mel!?! Are you kidding me???? You would have to have blinders on for the past SEVERAL years to NOT KNOW that our once loved, endearing, cheeky Mel.. has gone over the deep end. Sorry to say it.. but even if she is exaggerating on some things.. that man is now a certafiable nutcake! He needs anger management BIG TIME, and as for all the outragious, hurtful things he has said in drunken stupors.. well there are no words.
Let's face it .. Mel has a very long history of being known as a first class D(*k with the Hollywood elite, and he is notoriously saying prejudice and hurtful remarks with no remorse, and it's also well know he has NO respect for women... but as he puts it "they should know their role!" You tell 'em MEL!!!! Good grief.. what a jerk!

through rough times; anybody his age that goes through life. She
was looking for another cash cow; the other one was getting older. She's showing her true colors--they are green, the exact
same color as money. That's ALL she wants and ALL she ever wanted.I'm just sorry she had to bring such misery into Mel's life. Hoe from the beginning.

I am a Black female and I think that Mel is a racist and anti-Semetic. I have never been a drinker, but, I know that it has been deemed a truth serum by many. I think that Mel really has a problem with other people, including his own race. If in fact she was putting the child's life in danger, then he did what he had to do. But, I have been in a violent relationship. A man who would hit his wife would lie, steal, kill, rape and anything else that he thought he could get away with. This includes rich white men, not just wife beaters in other races, Mel.My ex use to do the same thing....get in front of an audience and suddenly become a holy man. I was the bad guy. So, we need to be careful who we believe in this thing. A lot of women have lost their lives because everyone chose to believe the man.I think that he is an out of control wife beating racist pig!
