Kate Winslet, Sam Mendes to Divorce

The seven-year marriage of Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes is over.

"Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year," their lawyers said in a statement. "The split is amicable and by mutual agreement."

"Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."

Winslet and Mendes were married back in 2003. The award-winning director and Titanic star / perennial Oscar nominee have a six-year-old son, Joe, together.

Winslet also has a daughter, Mia, 9, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton. It's always sad to report stories like this, but we wish them both the best.
