New Moon DVD to Be Released on March 20

New Moon mania is about to start up again.

Granted, it might not be as wild this time around, but a release date has been announced for the Twilight sequel on DVD: it will hit stores on March 20.

New Moon DVD

In a statement, Summit Entertainment explains the unusual move of releasing a new DVD on a Saturday:

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon will be released on a Two-Disc Special Edition DVD and Special Edition Blu-ray on March 20, 2010 - a Saturday street date that will allow for fans across the nation to celebrate at retailer's midnight release parties before taking home the film at 12:01 a.m."

Director Chris Weitz, meanwhile, says the DVD will have "about ten minutes of groovy stuff [fans] haven't seen."

Don't worry, Chris. As long as it has Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner shirtless, this thing will sell well.

Wow, no commentary by Rob, Kris, and Taylor? Huge let-down. The commentary with Rob & Kris in Twilight, totally made the Dvd. I bought it because of the commentary. Will not be buying NewMoon Dvd, as there is nothing exciting in listening to a director give a boring speech about the filming of each scene. It will lack the humor that Rob & Kris gave in their commentary.

OMG!! It comes out right on my birthday!!!! woo hoo!!!!

No star commentary as promised > so very uncool, without the commentary its a massive dissapointment. The rob/kris commentary was great in #1 and i was really looking forward to taylor/ rob/ kris and chris in the commentary. But nope... just not happening, bummed out, at least eclipse is out in a few months, that will be awesome

Something else in addition to Remember Me to look forward to in March. Sorry the DVD won't have commentary by Rob like the Twilight DVD did, but I'll buy it anyway and watch it multiple times.
