Miley Cyrus is a totally innocent, goofy, God-loving gal.

In response to criticism that a recent photo of the actress and her friends is offensive to Asians, Cyrus has blogged the following:
I'm sorry if people looked at those pics and took.. out of context!
In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'!
I feel like now that [Britney Spears] is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on! Lucky me! haha Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know what is on my heart. You guys know me and have been by my side every step of the way! You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me are my friends, family, fans, and GOD!
** Our Take: You're right, Miley, if that had been someone else, it would have been overlooked. Michael Phelps can say the same thing about his recent bong use; or Vanessa Hudgens about her leaked naked photos in 2006.
But the bottom line is that celebrities are held to a higher standard. You have earned worldwide fame and fortune by peddling your supposedly clean Disney image. Can you truly make the argument that you had NO clue the current photo in question would be interpreted as an insult to Asians? Perception is as important as reality sometimes.
We still heart you, Miley. But grow up, take responsibiliy - or take yourself out of the spotlight.

1. she's a teenager,let her grow up at her own pace
2. the press are picking on her
3. lets not forget that the people eventually make celebrities, so if these celebrities act how they want, dont blame them, blame yourself.

"I was just trying to make a funny face." Then why didn't she do something like opening her eyes wide, pushing her nose with her fingers and sticking out her tongue? The kind of faces you make in front of a photo-booth with your friends. That would have been a funny face. But no, she literally took her fingers and slanted her eyes so she'd look Asian.
To say that she was "just trying to make a funny face" is to say that she consciously or subconsciously thinks Asians have a funny face. As if people of Caucasian, African, Latino, Arab and Jewish descent don't have funny faces. She was not sincere nor did she demonstrated any understanding of how her behavior can be offensive. She was defensive and contrite. Even blamed it on the media and the Asians who found it to be offensive. Apparently, it's their fault that they are offended. It's even Britney's fault for doing well, thereby causing the public to focus on poor Miley.

Miley, I know how you feel. And its just a stupid GOOFY face. I CANT believe that well the PRESS is well they always looking for things that ARENT TRUE and LIES, AND well sometimes they are true but not THIS!! Miley, everyone knows you won't do that! Besides, fans still are with you!

I feel bad on her she cant live a normal teenage life with ppl butting in and blowing things out of porportion..I wouldnt care if she killed someone tbh id still be a huge fan :)

Seriously, it is not goofy at all. You are saying people with slanting eyes look goofy? God has created everyone in the image of Him. This is an insult to the creator.
I cannot believe my eyes, there are fans who actually say stuffs like no matter what she did, I will still be a huge fan.
Also, some people felt sorry for her....Come on, she is earning lots and lots of money from little kiddos...the least she can do is set a bloody good example.
Not all asians have slanting eyes...stereotype...but truly I have known of friends with slanting eyes....
Why even bother to defend her? If you are a hooligan in the streets, i don't care....you are setting an example for little conforming minds....
Then, probably she is not fit to be where she is.
Oh well, I guess she will be losing a lot of her so called slanting eyes fans....at least....LOL...

She never seem to learn from her lessons....she is constantly engaging in controversial issues like skimpy dressing....acting childish....
There is no excuse for being insensitive in your actions when you are being admired by so many kiddos out there...
Very RUDE! I wonder if she is going to make fun of people being fat, too skinny, or handicap next...
I bet you guys will not defend her if she is making obscene gestures to your interpretation....as a personal attack....
