We often have a bit of fun with parents and their questionable decisions.

But there’s nothing funny about what the following video depicts.

In footage recorded by a Dollar Store patron, the video below appears to feature a mother lying unconscious on the floor of an establishment in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Her two-year old daughter, clad in Frozen pajamas, is trying to revive her in the toy aisle.

According to The Eagle Tribune, store clerk Nicaurys Anziani called 911, prompting paramedics to arrive on the scene and save the life of the 36-year-old mother.

They did so by using Narcan, a drug that counters the effects of an opiate overdose.

Once awake, the woman told onlookers and paramedics that "she was just tired and dozed off."

That seems unlikely, but you can judge for yourself.

Authorities later discovered baggies and straws consistent with either fentanyl or heroin abuse in her bag, Lawrence Police Chief James Fitzpatrick told WBZ-TV.

The mother, whose name has not been made public, was taken to a local hospital and charged with child endangerment.

“It’s very disturbing to see someone like this,” Fitzpatrick told WBZ-TV. “It’s obvious addiction has overtaken them, to the point of not being able to take care of their child.”

Following the incident, which took place on Sunday morning, September 18, the little girl was taken into emergency custody by the Department of Children and Families.

The mother does not have any other children.
