90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? star Larissa Lima has been through so much during her relatively short time in the United States.
Now, she's sharing pieces of information with fans on social media -- passages about abuse.
Followers are alarmed and worried.
Is she just trying to educate fans about what she learned after her assault trial?
Or is Larissa exposing what really went down with Colt and why she's so, so grateful to be out of that toxic marraige.
Take a look and decide for yourself:
Larissa Lima posted a callout
At least, that's what it looks like to fans. You'll have to decide for yourself whether Larissa is just trying to educate her followers ... or inform them of what was happening behind closed doors.
Is this about Colt?
On her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Larissa shared snapshots of her pamphlet on breaking the cycles of abuse.
Control is a form of abuse
Larissa drew the attention of fans to certain parts of the pamphlet. She didn't name her ex-husband, but to many, the implication seemed clear: she was calling out Colt for his behavior during their turbulent marriage.
She also editorialized
Larissa wrote about the importance of self-love over passages about healthy communication styles.
It's no secret that there was some unhealthy communication
In addition to loud verbal fights, Larissa and Colt both spoke unkindly to each other and seemed to disregard the other's feelings and dignity. Sometimes, viewers (yes, us included) gave Colt a pass on that because he spoke in a quieter voice.
She also clashed a lot with Debbie
Debbie and Colt have a transparently dysfunctional relationship. Many believe that they are codependent. It was not surprising that she and Larissa argued, but the intensity of their animosity was a little alarming.
But there was scary stuff in that household
Last summer, Larissa asked 90 Day Fiance producers to interview her in a car -- fearing reprisal from Colt or Debbie if they overheard what she had to say. She sounded genuinely afraid.
And that was just what was caught on camera
Larissa's bestie, Carmen, spoke out on Instagram after the clip of Larissa being interviewed aired. She revealed that Larissa had called her earlier that day because tensions in the household were mounting.
Carmen wishes things had been different
Like so many of us, she cannot help but imagine what it would have been like if Larissa had left that day, avoiding the nightmares to come.
Then there was Colt's cheating scandal
Now cheating in and of itself is not abuse. But playing weird tricks on your wife, spreading lies about your marital status, and being a jerk about the cheating when you get caught is not healthy communication. You owe your spouse better than that.
Larissa faced two more arrests
Both times, Colt called the police on her and alleged domestic battery. The November incident was dropped by Clark county prosecutors. The same cannot be said for what happened in January.
Larissa shared the scary news that night
Larissa took to her Instagram Stories, frantically, having fled her house, her face smeared with her own blood. She told her followers that Colt had been tormenting her, allegedly for hours, but that he had called the police after she scratched his lip -- which she says was in self-defense.
Fans were horrified
Reality stars can be ridiculous, and most people only see their worst sides. No one wanted to see Larissa with injuries on her face.
She had injuries on her body, too
Notably, Colt told police that Larissa must have inflicted the wounds herself. Reports say that he claimed that he was a habitual nail biter and that his nails were too short to do any damage.
Fans found that story odd
Social media was immediately full of 90 Day Fiance fans citing photo after photo of Colt in which his nails were certainly not too short to break someone's skin. But police looked at Larissa's history of two prior arrests and carted her off to jail.
Colt had his own injury
This photo made the rounds after being passed to 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates on Instagram, who provided what amounted to live coverage of this grisly breakup.
Larissa can't directly discuss this anymore
This look at her divorce documents also comes via John Yates. There is a gag order in effect for Larissa and Colt. In other words, they have an agreement by which neither may defame the other. For these two, they basically can't even discuss the other.
And Larissa's third arrest did go to trial
Even though she had leveled accusations that Colt's torment drove her to scratch his lip, prosecutors moved forward so that a judge could determine how to address this complicated situation.
Afterwards, Colt was "humblegloating"
He wrote about rebirth and moving on. In the mean time, he shared a video in which Debbie appeared to be trying to dab in celebration. The message was clear.
Rumor claimed that Larissa had been found guilty
Heavily redacted court documents can be difficult to understand, but at first it appeared that Larissa Lima had been given a suspended sentence as part of a guilty verdict.
That would be bad news
The sentence itself wasn't bad -- your standard community service and stern warning to stay on your best behavior. But a conviction on Larissa's record could get her deported.
But Larissa says that she was not found guilty
After all of this speculation, Larissa took to Instagram to clarify that she had not been found guilty, but instead ordered to take weekly domestic violence prevention classes. Her next court date is in about a month. If she's kept up with the classes as ordered, she expects that the judge will recognize her good behavior.
Speaking of those classes
We are, like, 95% positive that Larissa is sharing information packets from her domestic violence prevention classes. That's what those pics in her Instagram Stories are.
Anyway, Larissa doesn't want to go anywhere
She received assistance and advice on how to retain her legal residency. In July, after Larissa next appears in court, we'll know more about her status.
So why was Colt smiling?
Most assumed that he was gloating about vanquishing his ex wife. Maybe he was just glad that he and Larissa are no longer in each other's lives.
On that, EVERYONE can agree
As Debbie correctly stated, Colt and Larissa should not be married. They were toxic together.
And speaking of that toxicity
That stuff is exactly what Larissa's pamphlets are talking about. The way that Colt would flirt with everyone, the way that Larissa would speak to him afterwards. The way that Colt would dismiss her feelings as hysterics.
And the less said about their sex life, the better
Larissa described their sex life as a "disaster." Colt wanted sex all of the time, but Larissa felt dehumanized by it at times. And when things were bad in their marriage, she obviously did not feel like laying out the welcome mat.
So, was Larissa calling out Colt by sharing those docs?
Maybe so -- but she's also educating her fans and followers on what to look out for in relationships -- from themselves or from a partner.
Fortunately, things seem so much better now
Larissa and her boyfriend, Eric(kee), seem to be enjoying each other and their romance. They've been dating for a few months now and fans are so glad to see how different Larissa is when she's in an emotionally supportive relationship.
We hope that she stays out of trouble!
Larissa's over-the-top personality makes for great reality television, but hopefully she will keep it in check and avoid getting in trouble with the judge or anyone else.
