With Jax having been eliminated in the opening moments, Clark Beckham and Nick Fradiani went head to head (and vocal cord to vocal cord) on the May 12, 2015 edition of American Idol.
Each hopeful sang three tracks: a potential Coronation Song; a selection by producer Simon Fuller; and a single they ran back after a previous successful performance.

Clark Beckham – “Georgia on My Mind”
Clark Beckham impersonated Ray Charles once again with this take on “Georgia on My Mind.” He didn’t exactly bring the energy or the emotion, but the guy can sing!
Clark Beckham – “Ain’t No Sunshine”
Producer Simon Fuller decided on this song for Clark Beckham. He stripped down the arrangement for it and went all acoustic on a stool, strumming his guitar.
Clark Beckham – “Champion”
This would be Clark Beckham’s American Idol Coronation Song… if he wins. One of the verses was definitely too low for him and the chorus stretched his upper register nearly to its breaking point.. What do you think?
