Earlier this week, Amber Portwood threatened to quit Teen Mom OG, claiming that the show was not good for her mental health.
Now, it looks as though Portwood’s assessment of the situation was spot-on, and she should step away from the spotlight ASAP.
In a series of bizarre rants over the course of the past week, Portwood has launched what she says is a counterattack against fans who have spoken ill of her online.
And her latest tirade has raised some serious concerns about Amber’s mental health.
Take a look:
Hard Times
Amber has made no secret of the fact that she’s going through a rather difficult time at the moment.
Next Out the Door?

Earlier this week, Amber stated that she plans to quit Teen Mom OG as the show is causing her too much stress.
For the Record

Most of the ladies have threatened to quit the show at one time or another, though none has followed through. Farrah Abraham was fired from the series last year.
The Comeback (With) Kid(s)
There was a time when it looked as though Amber was a lost cause, but after welcoming son James back in May, she briefly seemed committed to living a more stable and conscientious life.
Amber’s Rampage

Amber has never minced words with fans, but lately, she’s been letting loose on social media like never before.
Turning Things Around
Amber had a new child with a new partner and the experience seemed to bring her to a better place, which enabled her to be a better mom to daughter Leah.
The Downward Spiral

Unfortunately, earlier this week, things took a sharp turn in the wrong direction for Amber.
Going Off
This week alone saw three separate but equally bonkers rants, all of them targeted directly at TMOG fans.
That Famous Temper

First, Amber attacked a fan during an Instagram Live rant after the follower suggested that Portwood had been too young to be a responsible parent to her first child.
Options Abound
Amber could have conceded this obvious point or simply ignored the question.
Amber on the Attack
Instead, she went after the fan in brutal fashion, quickly losing the support of her other followers.
She Went There
Amber called the fan the R-word, then threatened physical violence against her. Not a good look.
Queen Amber

Amber has been laying low on social media in recent months, and it seems she’s not accustomed to receiving push-back from fans.
Parting Ways
Just before Monday night’s episode of Teen Mom OG aired, Amber took to Twitter to inform fans that she has decided to part ways with the show that made her famous.
Unhinged

“F-ck all of you for real,” Amber began in her typically understated fashion.
Mutual Hate
“If you don’t have love for me then it’s mutual!!! Point blank,” Portwood added. “If you do have love for me then it’s mutual!!!”
Tendering Her Resignation
Shortly after, Amber tweeted, “I can’t do this anymore.” She followed that up with “I have to quit this show.”
The Heartache
“The heartache this show has put me through is too much to bear anymore,” Amber explained. “If I will not be shown then there’s nothing more to do. My name will not get smeared anymore.”
The Second Threat
From there, things got even more real, as Amber accused fans of behaving in a way that might cause someone to take their own life.
Serious Stuff
âÂÂYou guys are the reason people commit suicide,â Amber tweeted. âÂÂWords hurt and IâÂÂm such a sweet person and those parts are never really shown.âÂÂ
She’s Spreading Something, Alright

âÂÂIâÂÂve only wanted to help children and teenagers not go through what I did including my daughter,” Portwood continued.
Calling Her Bluff
As many critics of Amber have pointed out, she almost certainly will not quit the show. If she had real intentions of doing so, she would have done so already.
Immediate Action Is Required
But that doesn’t mean her relationship with MTV should be allowed to continue. Network execs should cut ties with Amber for the sake of all involved.
Unsafe Conditions
Amber has threatened fans with bodily harm, used inappropriate slurs, leveled shocking allegations, and bashed the show that made her famous.
Going the Way of Farrah
It wasn’t all that long ago that MTV decided it had no choice but to kick Farrah to the curb. The time has come to do the same with Amber.
