Let this be a lesson to those of us who hit the bar (a little too hard) prior to boarding a plane, and to those of us who believe we are above the law when it comes to cell phones.
In-flight crew members WILL kick you off the plane and/or instruct the pilot to turn it around and bring it back to the gate, where officers will be waiting to either cuff you or embarrass you in front of everyone.
Whether they were drunk, unruly or both, these celebs definitely deserved to be escorted off a plane.
James Kennedy The Vanderpump Rules star was too bombed to board a Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, where he-costed a Memorial Day 2016 party with co-star Lala Kent. Kennedy was able to board a later flight.
Alec Baldwin In December 2011, Baldwin ignored a flight attendant’s instruction to turn off his cell phone because he was playing “Words with friends.” When he became belligerent and called the flight crew every horrible name under the sun, the pilot turned the plane around and taxi’d back to the gate. “Last flight w American,” he tweeted after the ordeal. “Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950’s find jobs as flight attendants.”
Courtney Love (Getty Images) Love was “verbally abusive towards our cabin crew and disruptive” on a Virgin Atlantic flight from LA to London. Police were waiting for the rocker once she touched down at Heathrow Airport.
Christian Slater (Getty Images) In 1994, Slater boarded a commercial flight at JFK with a gun packed in his luggage. He was then arrested, and had to serve three days of community service.
Blac Chyna Back in January, Chyna was arrested at Austin’s Bergstrom International Airport trying to make her connection to London. Chyna appeared drunk and belligerent as she stormed towards her gate, and called one flight attendant a “nasty ass bitch.” She was also arrested for drug possession.
Conrad Hilton (David Buchan/Getty Images) This little sh** was arrested after behaving like a complete jerk on a flight from London to LA. Hilton, who admitted to taking a sleeping pill during the flight, had a meltdown which included a threat to crew members. “If you wanna square up to me bro, then bring it and I will f**king fight you,” he screamed, along with “I will f**king own anyone on this flight; they are f**king peasants.” He apparently smoked weed in the bathroom, and was restrained by while he was passed out so he wouldn’t do it again.
Josh Duhamel (Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Duhamel refused to turn off his Blackberry after taking it out during taxi in 2010. The flight, which took off from New York and was bound for Kentucky, turned back to the gate, and Duhamel was escorted off.
Naomi Campbell (Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Marc Jacobs International, LLC) The supermodel was removed from a British Airways flight and promptly arrested in April 2008 after assaulting two police officers who informed her that the airline had lost a piece of her luggage (which happened to be full of designer clothes).
David Hasselhoff (Getty Images) Hasselhoff was accused of being too drunk to board a flight from London to LA in 2006, but his rep insisted he had felt too sick, and made the decision himself to take a later flight. Hasselhoff was on antibiotics for an arm injury at the time.
Gerard Depardieu (Getty Images) In August 2011 the French actor was flying from Paris to Dublin when he was told to wait for the toilet until the plane had reached a safe altitude. So, he “unzipped, stood up and did it on the floor,” one passenger said. “We could see he had been drinking. The stewardess was dumbfounded.”
Fergie (Getty Images for Lord & Taylor) She was booked on a Virgin Atlantic flight from LA to London, but the Black Eyed Peas singer was too sauced to board with her band mates. “She was falling all over the place and had to be supported. She was in no state to fly,” a source told the Dialy Mirror of the 2007 incident. “But when she was prevented from boarding she couldnâÂÂt believe it. She was drunkenly ranting at staff but could barely string a sentence together. It was very embarrassing.”
Ivana Trump (Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images for DuJour) In 2009, Trump was escorted off a New York-bound Delta flight in Florida for yelling at unruly children who were running up and down the aisles. “She was so belligerent toward other passengers and crew that the plane returned to the terminal,” a Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman explained. Trump called the kids “little f***ers” and screamed “f*** you” to fellow passengers.
Selma Blair Selma Blair poses here with her son on a plane. In June of 2016, the actress had to be removed from a flight after she suffered some kind of meltdown.
Lamar Odom Before boarding a July 11th red eye to New York, Odom reportedly got drunk on beer and whiskey inside Delta’s LAX lounge. Before take-off, Odom got up from his First Class seat and tried to make it to the bathroom to throw up. He only made it as far as the galley, but was able to reach the toilet for another round. It was decided that the former NBA player be removed from the flight for safety reasons.
Kandi Burruss Burrus was en route to Hawaii in September 2016 when she was kicked off her flight for allegedly causing a commotion. “This was so crazy & random! We were sitting in our seat & the gate ticketer came on & asked to see my ticket because it wasn’t showing up in their system,” Burress explained. “I gave him my ticket but it had our baggage claim checks on the back. He never brought it back & the plane started rolling off. I asked the flight attendant where was my ticket & told him I needed the baggage claim ticket just in case my bags didn’t make the flight. The flight attendant left & came back & said the pilot was calling to check & then the next thing I know this lady comes on the plane & said she needed Todd & I to get off the plane because we caused some sort of commotion.”
