‘Us Weekly’ takes home top magazine award

Janice Min has a new baby and a celeb glossy all to herself. What else could she want? Well, the award for Magazine of the Year couldn’t hurt. In a self-congratulatory ceremony (as are the Emmys and Oscars, but Americans actually give a shit about those), Advertising Age handed out top prizes at its annual American Magazine Conference. Min has overseen raises in advertising (25 percent) circulation (17.4 percent) and newsstand sales (47 percent), all of which helped shut out Vanity Fair and Graydon Carter from any prizes this year (and none from Adweek, either), as top editor went to Esquire‘s David Granger. A few can expect some Oscar party disinvites.
