‘Radar’ Rally: $25m in funding, plus a legal hurdle
» More Media
If the less-than-stable wireless connection in Starbucks is keeping you from your morning dose of caffeinated goodness, we suggest you at least sit down to prep yourself for the upcoming onslaught of Radar magazine items. Updating yesterday’s story announcing Mort Zuckerman as the backer for Maer Roshan’s celebrity-sex-scandal-politics-style title, David Carr has some additional details, including the price tag: Zuckerman and financier Jeffrey Epstein will write a check for $25 million to get the book running. Zuckerman and Epstein will be equal partners, while Roshan will hold on to a small ownership stake of his own.
And Roshan, famous for turning his morning shits into press blitzes, has been forced to steer clear of the offensive: a legal snafu over the magazine’s name has yet to be worked out.
And if it’s still early when you’re reading this, we beg you not to go to the magazine official website, where the most obnoxious and uncreative Flash presentation awaits you (and it’s all “radar-y,” ooh!).
