MySpace’s Co-Founders Need to Learn Quick That Rupert Murdoch is a Cheap, Cheap Bastard

June 26th, 2007

You know Tom Anderson as everyone’s best friend, at least on MySpace. But he, along with fellow MySpace co-founder Chris DeWolfe, are about to get a new title: greedy little shits. Well, okay, not necessarily “greedy,” but greedy by News Corp. standards. This twosome sold MySpace to Rupert Murdoch for a cool $580 million, and they’re after a $50 million 2-year contract once their current arrangement expires in October. As Nikki Finke tells it: “No one has obviously told DeWolfe or Anderson that News Corp is also one of the cheapest companies on earth when it comes to executive compensation.”
