As if this odd holiday couldn’t get any more strange, the Groundhog Day news shifts its focus from Punxsutawney Phil to the over sized rodent’s handler, Bill Deeley.
Ok, Phil did see his shadow this year, but honestly, if 60 degree days are defining of winter, then we think we can handle six more weeks of this. Unlike Deeley, who is completely exhausted from the duties of being a groundhog handler.
It isn’t just a one day a year job, folks. Phil’s buddy apparently “doesn’t have the energy or the time. Part of the job includes taking Phil to parades and special events.” Uh, not to mention that’s the type of job that can really get in the way of getting laid.
