Larry Birkhead, the shark-toothed suitor of Anna Nicole Smith, is best remembered for successfully implanting his sperm into Smith’s uterus (despite competing specimens from lawyer Howard K. Stern, Bahamian royalty and the husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor) and for conveniently stepping forward to accept his parental responsibilities just as soon as he realized that the bulk of Smith’s multimillion dollar estate was set aside for the care of baby Dannielynn.
And now he’s known for something else: Deluding himself into thinking he was Barbara Walter’s “10 Most Fascinating Person of 2007.”
According to the NYDN, Birkhead was so confident he would be named to the mysterious number-one slot that he tipped off paparazzi to his whereabouts prior to the broadcast (”because he thought the papers were going to need fresh pictures of him”) and arranged a little viewing party to marvel in his own greatness!
Imagine his disappointment, therefore, when he – and his small circle of friends/clingers on – discovered that the coveted “Most Fascinating Person” accolade went to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling instead.
Fortunately, Birkhead is said to have consoled himself by remembering he has a daughter whom he loves very much. And a trust fund he loves even more.
