As 2013 comes to a close, it seems only fitting that we reflect on the top entertainment stories of the year.

During the past twelve months we covered the bad behavior of Justin Bieber. His over-the-top antics included monkey business, bad neighbor reports, peeing in a restaurant mop bucket, concert snafus, graffiti, drugs, prostitutes and a “retirement” tweet on Christmas.

We covered all things Kimye — from Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy, the birth of North West, Kanye West’s successful YEEZUS album and tour, their elaborate engagement spectacle and his controversial comments that seemed to gain steam as the year progressed.

The death of ‘Fast & Furious’ star Paul Walker shocked his fans as images of a mangled and fire-ravaged sports car were burned indelibly into our brains.

Beyonce enjoyed a huge year that began on a sour note when she lip-synced during the second Presidential Inauguration. She regained her footing with an amazing half-time performance during Super Bowl XLV11. She went on to tour and even managed to release a surprise studio album.

Cable TV continued to be huge – with popular shows like ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Homeland,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ ‘True Blood,’ ‘Mad Men,’ ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Dexter,’ and yes … ‘Duck Dynasty.’

Actress Jennifer Lawrence had a really big year with one success story after another. She won an Academy Award, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for the romantic comedy ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’ In addition she is enjoying huge success with ‘The Hunger Games’ series and has gained red carpet favor from fashion designers who want her as their muse.

Brad Pitt’s fiancee Angelina Jolie was heralded for her courageous decision to undergo a double mastectomy after learning that she carried the BRCA gene, a mutation that leads to cancer. Her decision to go public with her journey has led many women to get tested.

We witnessed the sudden downfall of Food Network star Paula Deen, when one of her restaurant employees filed a discrimination lawsuit alleging racism. Deen’s sponsors and the network dumped their former kitchen celebrity. We learned in late August that the suit had been dismissed by her accuser, who has reached a private understanding with the southern cook.

The sudden death of ‘Soprano’ actor James Gandolfini rocked the entertainment world in June, when he died of a massive heart attack while in Europe with his son. His latest film ‘Enough Said,’ released after his death, has picked up a number of award nominations, including Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. His co-star and love interest in the film was Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Miley Cyrus was at the top of the heap in 2013, beginning with her VMA performance with Robin Thicke that featured twerking and a nasty foam finger. Days later she broke off her engagement to Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth. She was way too busy with her career and new album ‘BANGERZ’ to wallow.

This girl was so HOT in 2013 that she was even in the running for TIME magazine’s Person of the Year. The cover went to Pope Francis.
