The body of missing 28-year-old former swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore was discovered stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in a Buena Park trash bin over the weekend in Los Angeles. The suspect in the case is reported to be 32-year-old real estate developer Ryan Alexander Jenkins, who reported her missing on Saturday before fleeing.

The couple left L.A. on Thursday and headed for a poker tournament in San Diego. According to her mother Lisa Lapore, Fiore left with a large suitcase “packed to the gills”. Lapore believes it is probably the same suitcase that was discovered in the dumpster, containing her daughters remains.

Fiore’s death was caused by strangulation, according to police. Her mother said the couple likely had a major blowout. She admits, “Jasmine is pretty feisty and doesn’t back down easily.” The couple are reported to have gotten married in Vegas early in 2009, but Lapore doesn’t believe that it was a legal ceremony.

Jenkins, a former contestant who was described as an investment banker on the VH1 reality show Megan Wants a Millionaire, is a Canadian national from Calgary and is believed to have fled there from the U.S. in Fiore’s 2007 white Mercedes CL S550 with black rims and tinted window. Police believe he swapped out his own license plates for hers. The plate believed to be on the vehicle is HLY275.

Lisa Lapore said that Fiore had recently moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas after working two years as a swimsuit model. She was reported to be embarking on several new career paths, having obtained her real estate license and starting up a personal training business with a friend.
