The queen of daytime talk shows, Oprah Winfrey may not be having such a great ‘Aha Moment’ now that she is in a legal battle over the use of the terms. Nebraska insurance company Mutual of Omaha filed a lawsuit in federal court on Wednesday against Harpo Productions, claiming that Oprah has been violating their trademark “AHA”.

The insurance company took their case to the courts after they were instructed by Harpo Productions to cease and desist in their What’s Your Aha Moment campaign. The basis for Mutual of Omaha’s legal action is the fact that in February they laid claim to the phrase after receiving no opposition during the federal trademark registration process. Their stance is that nobody stopped them and now they have the legal right to use Aha in their marketing materials.

A spokeswoman for Harpo said that both sides expect to reach an amicable solution in this matter – read that to mean there will be some money changing hands.
