Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was arrest Wednesday night in Southern California on a gun charge. The 22 year old was observed by police sitting in a 2006 Mercedes-Benz with several other men in an L.A. neighborhood.

Upon closer inspection of the vehicle, officers found a loaded gun and determined that it belonged to the athlete. Lynch was arrested for felony possession of a concealed fire arm and was released the same night on a $35,000 bond.

Lynch, who played last week in the Pro Bowl, has had several other brushes with the law. In January 2007 he was accused of sexually assaulting a former girlfriend. That charge was eventually dropped.

In June 2008, Lynch was involved in a hit and run while driving a Porsche Cayenne SUV in the Buffalo bar district. He struck a woman who was treated for minor injuries.

Because the injured party was not seriously hurt, the hit and run charge was dropped and the athlete pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. He was fined $100 and had his license and registration revoked.

Lynch finished the 2008 season with 1,036 yards rushing and eight rushing touchdowns. He posted 300 receiving yards on 47 receptions, including a receiving touchdown. He is the first Bill’s running back to play in the Pro Bowl since 2002.
