Singer Ke$ha entered an inpatient treatment program at Timberline Knolls near Chicago on January 3 for help with an eating disorder.
The 26-year-old released a statement to PEOPLE, “I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder … to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”
Timberline Knolls is considered one of the leading residential treatment centers in the country, offering programs to woman who are suffering eating disorders, alcoholism, drug addiction, mood disorders and post traumatic stress disorder.
Demi Lovato received treatment at Timberline Knolls in 2010 for bulimia, self-injury, and self-medicating with drugs and alcohol.
Ke$ha is openly bisexual, a vegetarian and an ordained minister who has performed a number of legal commitment ceremonies for gay couples, after getting her certification online.
The singer dropped out of high school at 17 to pursue a music career in Los Angeles, and later earned her GED.
