Leah Remini admits she is nervous about her ‘Dancing with the Stars’ debut on Monday night, but she’ll have a very good friend sitting in the VIP seats.
The former ‘King of Queens’ actress will be supported by her long time pal Jennifer Lopez, who will be in the audience when season 17 of the ABC reality dance competition kicks off on Sept. 16.
Remini, 43, and her pro partner Tony Dovolani will begin the season with a Foxtrot. He tweeted earlier this week, “Soooo proud of @LeahRemini. Her work ethic is unmatched by anyone.”
In July 2013, Remini left the Church of Scientology after “years of interrogations and thought modification,” and plans to write a tell-all detailing her experiences while still among the ranks of the elite Scientology Celebrity Center on Hollywood Blvd in L.A.
She has since been shunned by many former friends, including ‘DWTS’ alum Kirstie Alley, who carried on a thinly-veiled smear campaign via Twitter on the heels of Leah’s departure from Scientology.
Leah married Puerto Rican salsa musician Angelo Pagan in 2003. They have a nine-year-old daughter, Sofia Bella.
Season 17 cast promo photos feature Elizabeth Berkley, Corbin Bleu, Brant Daugherty, Bill Engvall, Valerie Harper, Keyshawn Johnson, Christina Milian, Bill Nye, Jack Osbourne, Snooki Polizzi, Leah Remini and Amber Riley.
