Jamie-Lynn Sigler and fiance Cutter Dykstra welcomed a baby boy Wednesday. The first time parents named their son Beau.

A rep for the former ‘Sopranos’ star released a statement, “Both mother and baby are doing great!”

Sigler and Dykstra, a Washington Nationals minor league infielder, went public with their romance in March 2012 and announced their engagement in January. Two weeks later they revealed they were expecting a child.

Jamie-Lynn chatted with PEOPLE about the shock of finding out she was pregnant, “We definitely thought it was going to be a slow relationship process and possibly an engagement — so the baby definitely threw us for a loop.”

She admits the first few months of pregnancy were rough. “I got hit pretty hard.” Once the morning sickness passed “it became an exciting time.”

At her June baby shower the actress admitted that they were having a hard time coming up with a name for their son, “We have a couple of baby names we’re toying with. We’ll call him one name one week and one name another week. I think we have our favorite, but you never know. We could change our minds when we meet him.”

She was previously married from 2003-2005 to manager A.J. DiScala.
