The very popular writer J.K. Rowling became famous for her Harry Potter book series, which ended after her seventh book was written in 2007. The collection sold over an amazing 300 million copies worldwide.

According to Dallas Auction House, a soft cover of the first Harry Potter book was sold for just over $19,000. The book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was one of 200 copies from the first printing and included illustrated wrappers by London Publishers Bloomsbury.

When the book made it to the U.S., the name was changed to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The lucky bid winner was a vintage comic book collector from Dubai. The collector bought it for his wife, who is a huge fan.
